Steam Frame and Steam Machine verified status and filtered stores are currently very hidden away, along with little things like the special Friend status icon, review filters, etc.

I'm assuming that it'll be rolled out eventually when they've got the machines in a stable state.

Thanks i was totally stuck.

Such a good idea. Before, an expansion could release for a game you completed and you'd lose completion status. This looks very nicely designed. Can't wait for it to roll out more widely across more games.

I finished yesterday and immediately felt like this was missing. I've barely touched most of the builds (I think I did 5-6 leagues total before hitting credits) so I want to keep playing but it keeps stopping me with story that I've already seen.

The game doesn't let you win. I've been playing racing games for decades and have had my fair share of 8th-12th places in this after making mistakes.

Flatout Ultimate Carnage is an awesome showcase of the Frames of 2d gaming capabilities.

I'll try the new controller behaviour in Star Wars Squadrons. It didn't work with the Frame controllers before.

I don't often buy new, full priced games, but when a mashup of 2 of my favourite games ever, Episode 1 Racer and Burnout, I need to support those developers. Especially in a world where the fun arcade racer genre is relegated to indie games. AAA have forgotten how to make a fun racing game.

Some good improvements in this release. I hope they keep it up and make the headset feel really polished.

I'm hoping for desktop mode to get some attention soon, like multiple, resizeable desktops. And for example it would be nice to have a mouse cursor when using a mouse...

But I think number 1 priority now should be Steam Machine VR streaming

I'm in the same boat. I can't find any Machine specific information online yet. The PS5 will be a guaranteed good experience, but I'd prefer a Steam copy for the flexibility.

My WiFi drops out quite regularly on my frame. I haven't reported it to them yet but now I'm worried.

Hi there. I found the splat demonstration compelling enough to buy the Frame and your camera.

I muddled through getting the Lichfeld script to work in Windows and have have been very happy with the scenes I've created so far. Would it be possible to upload some youtube tutorials on how you get the best results from the suggested software? The scenes I've created have a lot of floating shadows, flashes of my body, etc that I'm struggling to find resources on how best to clean up. Same with adjusting the starting viewpoint.

I also noticed on the youtube interview, there was the ability to point and click on different scenes in the 3D space while inside the scene to move to different rooms in the house, will this functionality come to the player?

For reference I'm a complete newcomer to all this.

Hi, I can confirm that the Arcturus Lichfeld Studio script does mostly work in Windows. I have been able to build some scenes from my videos on my Windows PC. The only thing 'wrong' with what I've made so far has been that the script has made me upside down in the room. Manually saving a .ply of the scene in Lichfeld before the script ends solves this problem.

You need to install the required programs, and make sure the programs are all set up in the Windows 'path' (I had to google this).

Hopefully they'll have actual Windows instructions soon.

My brain definitely doesn't like it if a move away from the initial viewpoint! I feel like the option to move should be put behind warnings that these scenes are designed to be voiced from a single spot, and if you move away from it then reality breaks down into madness.

I've bought the camera and created a gaussian splat using video from it, and then viewing it in the frame has been completely mind blowing and it's the thing I'm most excited about on the Frame because the concept is so new to me.

So I think some people will find a huge amount of value in it.

Yeah it's not great. The frame feels like a product in beta in many ways. They did initially say it would stream from the machine, but at the frame launch they said it's not ready. I think they maybe underestimated other parts of the arm os development and they were working flat out on getting the frame to function at all. I'm sure its a high priority now.

I'm hoping that after a couple of months everything will be working seamlessly and we'll forget about the awkward launch period.

spideryyoda

Looking forward to their creation pipeline coming to Windows.

spideryyoda

Mine was all fine. Hopefully yours is too.

spideryyoda

The Frame is £890 so that's double.

My ergonomic kit arrived yesterday, and i quickly removed the straps again when trying to play flat controller games because i flat out cannot reach the up/Y buttons when the straps are on, let alone the start/select buttons. They force your hand to be lower down on the controller and i was hurting myself trying to play games.

They're great for HL:A and VR, but terrible for if you need to use the whole controller. It's not great.

spideryyoda

My kit is coming this afternoon. After all the posts today I'm worried i'm going to get 3/4 of a kit. I'll report back.

spideryyoda

That's really incredible work. They all look perfect.

Glad to see Neva Kee has a spot despite his 0.5 seconds of screen time.

spideryyoda

It still gets very stuttery on map 2 when you're driving around.

spideryyoda

Its only like that at the beginning.

Unfortunately the first 4-5 hours of Death Stranding are a mixture of way too many cutscenes, and the most stressful and difficult gameplay of the entire game.

spideryyoda

I waited from launch until last week for my Machine purchase email, and now I received a Frame purchase email immediately.
