Applegreen used to do this for years to it’s workers until a mum a few years back rang into Joe Duffy going berserk that they’d done it to her son, they got absolutely slated for it and stopped doing it.

and the offensive "Orish" accents on the radio... It's not funny

When I was in Canada this was the weirdest thing to me, “Hey do you want to hear my Irish accent?” like no why the fuck would I want to hear a cringeworthy attempt at a stereotype that sounds absolutely nothing like the way we talk?

Yanks and Canadians have this really bizarre idea that they’re good at doing accents when in reality they’re absolutely atrocious at them

Matthaus

I literally have a stack of hulk comics from my childhood in a corner of my room

I could write an essay on how horrifically they portrayed hulk, so much potential wasted.

Making Hulk look like a bitch and then never redeeming that was kinda lame though

His power levels doesn’t have a scale yet we barely got to see him at his best in the MCU.

Can confirm having gone over to Canada for 6 months before covid, the legal weed was poor quality whereas I was able to get 7 grams for €25 off a street dealer who delivered. It was heaven

Coppers is a club for Irish people not from Dublin, in Dublin.

Peter Casey brought it up and managed to gain a surprisingly sizable chunk of the votes in the 2018 election. Think if a politician went proper hardline on it they would gain a lot of support especially in rural areas.

I dunno I usually get comments removed whenever their community comes up on this sub so it’s hard to actually voice my own take on this, just for starters feel as long as we allow them to kneecap their children’s potential by leaving them with the education of someone in primary school we ain’t gonna see any change.

that don't go to school and get an education that become the bad apples.

Don’t a vast majority of them not even get educated past primary school?

it’s not worth the hassle that’d come

I remember this traveller kid when I was working in retail tried to pay with a fake €20 note, I told him it was fake, he protested, and I gave it back to him and he stormed off.

My manager came out and asked why I gave it back to him and I replied “Because his dad would’ve come back and shattered my nose for stealing his sons money and wouldn’t have listened to a word I said”. Manager seemed to agree then. It ain’t ever worth the hassle trying to deal with those that don’t adhere to the laws of Ireland.

Social interaction? Talking to other people and drinking/having nice food?

Naming herself and her family as the “First Family of Dublin” was hilariously cringe, she’s in a position nobody really gives a shit about and genuinely believed that when she said it.

I unironically blame McGregor for making young lads think this carryon is cool

Was obviously scumbags years ago but feels like he inspired a generation of scrotes into thinking being a “ganstoh” is what life’s all about

Your DC inspired name would create problems within the Six I’m afraid.

I would like to create a Sinister Six of banned users of r/soccer

We must raise this sub brothers. For TyperSniper (me, I’m still pissed). For bell_and_spurling. For Arteta_ball. For SuperGarlicBread, for every user who flew too close to the sun.

I grew up in a council estate surround by them

My condolences.

Suppose when you hammer it into your children that it’s “Us vs them” and pretend you’re oppressed, they grow up without any regard or care whatsoever for our laws

Yanks will literally have 0 clue about pikeys so them commenting on this post negativity is quite funny

Ah sure it is the talk of the place,” said one man yesterday afternoon

I love how everyone will read that and nod their heads, knowing fully well what the lad means

Just petrified me for some time as I always used to play football with my dad in the back and was convinced a car was gonna plow over the hedge suddenly

That one where the kids playing football in the garden with his dad and the car barrel rolls into the garden and kills the son absolutely scarred me when I was younger

The “For Ciaran” one from Portlaoise where the dad says “Worst day of my life” always, always gets me. You can hear the pain in his words

I was in Canada for about half a year and I’ll never forget the horrifying realization that the bacon/eggs/beef/ham/butter/bread was all so so inferior to Ireland.

It takes some time away to make you appreciate our food. I took it for granted for years but very much haven’t since.

The movie ‘Concussion’ nearly made me get sick at times with how they conveyed the damage caused by so many hits on players over years.

Years and years of your brain crashing into your skull, have mothers in the US gradually been more against their kids playing?

I have slightly negative sentiment towards how they operate as an ‘old boys club’ or helping each other more than anything, but they’re not exactly oppressive or outwardly hated by the public I dont think

Anyone putting “fuck da garda rat bastords so dey r fuck d pigs 🐷 “ etc on social media always makes me laugh, looks beyond sad
