Look up some ecofeminist writers like Val Plumwood and Carolyn Merchant for more thoughts in how patriarchy objectifies women the same way as it does nature. Also, the impact of the industrial revolution and other technological developments have shifted our view of nature from being alive to being a dead machine to be controlled.

I know eco feminism is not popular in this sub but I believe as do many the same world view that brought us patriarchy also brought us the mass destruction of the earth’s living systems we see today.

I agree with this and if I were the Dad I would be bending over backwards to take on all responsibility for my child so my new partner knew where she stood and that I was on the up and up with both my relationships, to my child and to her. I would never bicker like this. I am also wondering who is going to clean up and care for this child, buy his food, pick up from school, stay home from work for illnesses. Men use new relationships for child care all the time. She needs to be careful.
