The number of GLs I’ve dnf’d is double to the ones I’ve actually liked

Oh I totally agree with you about the chemistry. I was just focusing on the production, I think the script, direction, production, were good. I enjoyed the acting overall but agree that, for me, the romantic scenes were not on par with FB who are the goats, or lmsy.

They managed to tell a story that made sense, even with a crazy premise, strong characters, growth, and I’ll shout it from the rooftops: the best cinematography. Beautiful shots and scenes. I was sometimes annoyed by the acting choices. But overall one of my favorite GLs.

In terms of overall quality LTP is on a league of its own. I think 4 elements is well done. I think hometown romance has great cinematography moments. I think Enemies with benefits is a well rounded and quality production.

Lena is a great crier so they are making her cry a lot. Miu is great at staring into your soul, so that’s all she does. Those two have great chemistry so they are kissing a lot. They took those concepts and produced a series around that. Plot be dammed.

Hometown romance love scenes were better. And that was a freaking comedy with buffalos, chickens and overacting.

I love me a villain, love me a character without redemption. Give me all the crazies. But don’t also give me a “strong morals” character who does not sell herself but accepts yogurt as a token of love and forgiveness. Let Peem act all crazy, but also explain to me then why anyone would choose her.

I don’t need all my characters to be lovable, upstanding citizens, I do love a good villain. But I don’t get why they love each other, ike, 90% of the time Peem is mad at Parn. Peem has money and likes to act all superior, that was the character description, and they ran with it. Parn loves Peem and has a crappy life but has morals. And then? Where’s the story Ch3, where.is.the.story????

I defended at first because I didn’t know how they were going to handle the relationship. Love me a villain story, love me a redemption story. But I don’t know what this is. I feel like I’m missing half the plot. I don’t need perfect or lovable characters all the time, but I don’t understand the story anymore. Why do they love each other? What redeeming quality makes Peem worth it? I’m just confused.

They actually forgot to care about the plot. They were all like “oh, we have LenaMiu, we’re good” and they stopped caring about a story, a script, editing, direction. Why do they love each other? Honestly, if you want to sell this as a love story I’m missing the “love” part. I don’t understand why they are together, why they love each other, what they bring to the relationship. You know what I do get? That Peem hates Parn, that’s clear to me. Peem is clearly the villain, so give me that story, or give me a redemption story. But don’t give me this because it looks like you wrote the story with AI.

Lie hurts everyone and protects nobody 😆😆. The pillar of most Mexican telenovelas as well, and we used to get 200 episodes with those.

It’s a job, they are kissing in front of a camera that is inches away from their faces with a bunch of people watching. They need to remember camera position, choreography, maybe dialogue, and they need to respect their fellow actor and their boundaries. I’ve heard actors in general say it’s the least sexy moment ever. If it’s looks good on camera, congratulations, the actors, the director and the editor are doing a good job.

Sure. But we can’t expect all the GL actresses to be part of the community. They are, after all, actresses. They do a great job portraying love though. And selling a fantasy and, at least with Thai GLs, happy endings. And for that, I’m grateful. I agree that it is a slippery slope though because some folks only follow the ship not the actresses, others will choose one of them, others will follow both of them individually. I used to ship Englot. Now that Englot is dead, I’m supporting Charlotte. I like Freen better but I enjoy when FB work together (even if they are both dating men allegedly). I love LMSY and I would love to support them individually when they leave the GL space.

Ships sell. In movies, music, tiktok, series, because it’s a story that people find engaging. No need to feel bad or ashamed because you like a ship. With Thai GL it’s sometimes hard to “just enjoy the shows” because, at least for me, the quality productions are still not here. So I enjoy the series but also the interviews, and I recently went to a fan meeting and it was super fun. So I decided to lean in into the thai gl industry and enjoy the ships and the content and the drama. Of course I know the cps are not romantically involved, but I also fall into the story bc some of them just look so cute together. So don’t overthink it, don’t feel ashamed to ship, be mindful and respectful of their private lives, and just feel free be all giddy, to watch the content, to go to fan meetings and enjoy the series as they progress into great productions. This is entertainment, just enjoy.
