To be fair to the ai 90% of the non ai devs lack the precision for proper code too.

Is this an outsider looking in comment? as an insider I feel like minorities are a very very large portion of our military.

If I was to guess pulling a random name out of a hat it’s probably a 50% chance of being a minority and 20% chance of redneck. 30% chance being some other white guy that I wouldn’t classify in redneck.

If you only looked at recent enlistments probably a 90% chance of minority.

The army is the most diversified place I’ve seen. Minorities and gender wise.

Awesome. I think people too often correlate speed with complex tools like react or next but a simple html page is soooo fast and easy/cheap to host.

Standard Python apps can just be started with ‘python -m cProfile myscript.py’

PySpark would be harder to profile but to start you could import cProfile and use it within your Python code to prove whether the slowdown is in Python or happening in the jvm.

stormcrowsx

My guess on the difference in speed is likely that in the case of Python the whole dataset is getting loaded into memory either for input and/or output and causing swapping.

Java streams on the other hand are going to naturally only store what’s needed in memory.

Total guess but the difference in speed is more likely a testament to good Java api design than it is language run speed. Be impossible to say for sure without hooking a profiler up to Python and seeing what it’s wasting it’s time doing.

Kudos for reaching out and trying a different language on your problem. Now you know what’s possible. But I’d recommend you spend a little time in a profiler for your Python code now, there’s a fantastic lesson to learn about Python in here. I suspect either your going to learn just how fast the jvm is or that there’s a pitfall in Python apis that requires coding a little differently for big dataset use cases.

Gonna get the popcorn ready for when a criminal uses this as defense after shooting police.

Lice arrived suddenly after being brought by a migrating bird. Are they invasive or natural?

What about the seed that spread via crap from a migrating bird?

It’s all in the framing. You choose glass half empty others choose half full. The cat took advantage of an evolutionary advantage it had in that it could attach to humans for improved mobility just like the seed hitches a ride in a digestive tract

stormcrowsx

What’s the point at which our definition what is and what is not of the ecosystem changes? There’s enough wild cats in my area that there’d be no removing them now.

stormcrowsx

We could argue that cats naturally spread out via humans. Be sweet to human get ride to the new world. Migration complete.

Nice. Almonds help our appetite and make oxygen for us to breathe.

I realize I’m on an apple fanboy sub but garmin watches are awesome. Have both but the garmin instinct has taken 2 years of abuse, running and it has no issues. And I’m still getting a week of battery life.

stormcrowsx

My guess is that it’s done server side using the referrer header that browsers send. If the referrer isn’t in the list set on the video then it’ll block.

stormcrowsx

Googling is just a term. I use DuckDuckGo. it’s also better than letting Reddit do all the thinking for you.

stormcrowsx

No I don’t believe everything that’s why I browse this sub. But this has no purpose. Why the hell would media, search engines, and the weeknd all collaborate for this. Kanye has a platform there’s no purpose for him to go to a concert of another singer to bring him or anyone else down. He can just post on social media.

So one now has to ask is this conspiracy what’s the conspiracy. Is this someone aligned with Kanye? Trolls? A 14 year old having fun? All of this is more likely than a singer cancelling a show over another singer being at it.

If Kenye was going to speak he’d just do it, he can get on social media anytime he wants. He doesn’t need to go to weeknds concert. Your 4 iq dog is making connections for you that aren’t real man.

Seriously what’s more likely, weeknd is afraid that kenye will somehow manage to get the microphone and announce sex scandals or man who sings all the time loses voice.

stormcrowsx

You paused to think but didn’t bother googling in that pause? This is made up fake news. He lost his voice and gave everyone their money back.

stormcrowsx

Amd barely wins with 30 and 45w chips pitted against an apple that runs so cool they didn’t even have to put a fan in the laptop

stormcrowsx

Sure the US could kick Russia out of Ukraine fast but that’s risky. We are talking about a country with nukes being backed into a corner if the US is involved. Many many more could die.

I don’t see the US involvement ending it in minutes. I see US involvement leading to a potential apocalypse.

stormcrowsx

How?

stormcrowsx

You are right but in my opinion the chance rust will be high quality is greater than c/c++. Not just the memory safety but the way it forces developers to be more intentionally with bull and error checking.

I can make crappy software in any language but my language can do more to help make quality software. Rust does far more than c/c++.

stormcrowsx

Running. Feel better, more energy, and sleep better.

I’m a slow runner, don’t try to be fast but on top of the health benefits slow running is great meditation.

stormcrowsx

Made eating a giant delicious burger a reward for working out regularly. Will only allow myself to eat one if I’ve worked out as planned for a week, extended it to 2 weeks as I got healthier.

I also found listening to a certain podcast I liked only while working out would motivate me just so I could listen to it.

stormcrowsx

Somewhat misleading headline. They just won’t cut off what’s already been paid for. Doesn’t look like he’s budged on the roubles for payment.

Idiots in cars is appropriate because there’s two idiots. The OP and the suv driver.
