Yes, I have Claude write tools that I reuse often. I have a Claude written tool for screen captures, for editing video clips, for reducing 3D mesh complexity, for finding and converting audio, for controlling my web browser, and more. I have a common text file called framework that gives Claude permission, and instructions on how and when it can use each tool. Everything is usually kicked off by a quickstart.txt that tells Claude what to read when we reset or start a new session.

When I work with Claude or any CLI agent, the first thing I do I tell it to create a docs/plan.txt ... and I set the rules for Claude along with the rules for our project. I tell Clause never do builds, never do tests. I will build, and I will test. Then I add in projects specific things, starting with a general overview, phases, and eventually in this case rules for the game. As work progresses, I frequently reset Claude, but have it write out things to plan.txt and keep it organized. When I resume, I have Claude read plan.txt first, and have it verify the project thus far conforms to plan.txt. The agent then notes what we might have a problem with, and askes what to do next based off of items not yet accomplished in our plan.

I have been writing software for 30+ years, so handling lots of rules is in my nature by this point in my life. I covered some of these questions elsewhere, but there is a limit on the number of houses, and a valid strategy is to buy them up so other people cannot place houses on their properties. No, I did not write tests. I gave Claude a list of hard rules, and each step of the way asked Claude to look at the code and verify rule A, B or C was implemented. This was a 1 day project.

The actual game download was never online, to avoid lawsuits. Only a video was posted. My library that can create such game is open source and has been available. I removed the page just to avoid all the complaints and warnings I was getting, even though as I said the game was never available for download.
If you want something similar that is available for download, see:

I had Claude write a utility that is a C# desktop application that calls my other Claude utility for injecting itself into websites. The first utility searches online sound banks for sound samples using the second. This it allows me to preview the sounds, clip them for the portions I want, and convert them into my game's sound format which is stereo signed 16 bit float mp3.
The engine is open source. The Monopoly assets are not.

I had Claude code in a lot of rules about trading. For example, players can either request a property trade from another player, or make and offer of a property they own for a fixed price. Offers cannot be made at less than 120% of the original value, and you only have 4 available offers. If you have 4 refused offers in a row, you are locked out of offers until you pass GO 4 times. This is meant as a restriction to prevent offer spamming.

My toolkit does most of the work and is very well organized and easy to use. Plus, when I wrote it many years ago I labored by hand to ensure all the code had the relevant comments and "see alsos" attached. This greatly helps Claude along, and additionally Claude also has a full reference system it can access.

For now, due to copyright reasons and to avoid legal actions, the board game download has been restricted.

Yes, I realized this would happen, so I started out by tricking Claude. I told it we were starting a new game based on my library and the previously completed card games. I told Claude we were working on a generic board game engine and wrote most of the logic and a plan.txt informing the AI we are testing a board game. Eventually in the plan.txt we said we were testing the board game engine with Monopoly to make sure it could handle all possible scenarios. After a while we were just remaking Monopoly and it never complained.

I wrote up the voice lines and have a Claude utility that can control other AI bots including eleven labs V4 with emotes. I told Claude I wanted posh British person for a narrator, here are the lines, and it used less than 10,000 eleven labs tokens, which are free for that amount, to generate 3 voices character altering the lines to suit the personality of the voice actor. Claude then downloaded and converted the mp3s to a more suitable format, trimmed them down a bit, wrote the code to associate the various voice lines with game events automatically, and I told Claude a few rules about voices, such as never play a voice line within 4 seconds of a previous voice line ending, and to play property specific lines over other lines, such as being in wonder over landing on boardwalk rather than complaining about the rent.

I used the $20 pro plan with Opus 5.5, and used about 15% of my weekly normal limits.

There are several announcers you can choose from including none.

Monopoly written by Claude
This game project was written by me using a Claude CLI agent on Linux in less than 24 hours. It is a a full implementation of the game Monopoly and Claude was used for everything related to the specifics of the game. It was built using my custom Pascal toolkit that includes many of the essentials, such as window management, sound, input, opengl utilities, and a skinnable vector based UI element widget system.
The game obviously cannot be redistributed, but it was a fun project to make, use, and share privately with a few friends.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks. There are 3-5 voice lines per option. Some items have special voice lines like boardwalk, railroads, utilities. Also, I added two other announcers, and you can always select no announcer.

I am the original author of the game above. The video showcases my original custom game engine. It can handle both 2D and 3D games and includes skinnable and scalable vector UI toolkits. It was started in 2018, but before that I had another game toolkit. Feel free to ask me any questions or leave comments.

I have been working on a game library for years and am preparing the next game release for the Raspberry Pi. My games run on all platforms, but I take special care to make sure they run on a Pi without the hindrance of a display manager.
You can view my last game here:

Does it run on a train, or run in the rain, or in a box with a fox, or perhaps in a house with a mouse, does it run here or there, does it run anywhere?
Google is your friend, my friend, search for what you may, later or today. Is it not your question to ask, or my answer to give. How could it be you live, without 3 cups of pourage.

It doesn't run in your web browser and has a hard time running on iphone or android.
I will likely open source it not long from now. I'll be sure to send you an update,
