I stopped using claude a long time ago, there are both open and closed alternatives that are just as good or better at times. I don't know why they want 2T for being a player with a modest lead in a saturated market.

It pans to a different shot later and shows the Republicans seated
thatcodingboi
Not eventful, he calls it out, Democrats clap, Republicans don't

Stop being so defensive and take feedback. I literally ran my initial response through ai to soften it and make it easier to take and you still can't hear the feedback through the criticism. Nothing I said is controversial in the slightest. Have a good day.

Log scale: Linear should always be the default unless the data requires log (spans several orders of magnitude or clusters heavily near zero). That's not happening here, using log without a clear reason just causes people to misread the relationship as linear.
Inverted axis: People instinctively read "up and right" as good. When lower numbers are better (cost, tokens, steps), standard practice is to invert the metric so the best result stays top-right (like DeepSWE does). Even AA knows top-left is confusing thats why they have to highlight it green and slap an "optimal quadrant" label on it to keep people from misreading it
thatcodingboi
Bad chart, top left is best? Also log scale for two orders of magnitude when you have so few data points just serves to hide the results.
- make param linear
- reverse axis for params or do 1/number of params as a measure of information density

I feel its misleading to change the resolution because we have a display in non 16:9. If the display were shaped to 16:9 it would be 1080p, so the resolution which is a measure of pixel density should stay at "1080p" imo. I understand technically you are correct, just seems anti-consumer to try to phrase it other than 1080p
For instance a 1920x1081p display is "2k" not 1080p
thatcodingboi
Yeah which justice department?

There's tons of room there. I ran a 4 bit quant from unsloth of 3.8 27b with mtp and 100k context window with 24gb vram on my 4090. 64 is tons of space

That's not what desync is, thats latency. The AI aren't clients of their own, they are run by the server and their actions are decided on a scheduled tick rate and then communicated to you, the client. That's how every game functions and this can't be changed.
Desync happens when you and the server disagree on something. So typically we use it when a door state (open/closed) differs. Or if a person is desynced their client might tell the server they over here when the server thinks they are elsewhere leading to teleporting around corners once the conflict is resolved.
You can be desynchronized from the server state but bots can never be desynced from the server the same way you can't be desync from yourself.

No none of what you said is true. Some early detectors had false positives, they are incredibly good now with modern llms fingerprinting output making it a guaranteed way to confirm. They can even tell you which model generated it
thatcodingboi
I would agree if you made any edits to the output, but this is confidently 100% ai output on multiple scanners.
C'mon dude, you can't even write your own opinions on your own hobbies without making and AI do it? It's a reddit post... Fucking write it yourself or spare us reading it
thatcodingboi
If you don't mind me asking, are you an attorney or how do you know?
thatcodingboi
You can prompt it to do this. Run it through gpt-zero, 100% ai with high confidence. It reads like ai too
thatcodingboi
Nice try ai bot. Why are ai bots even commenting here?

There's hope yet! I turned my chemistry bachelor's into a really well paying job making ~470k/yr only by getting a master's in comp science and completely pivoting and never touching chemistry again :(

Yeah I watched the Maine and Minnesota debate due to the headlines. I obviously don't think the Republicans will do good for the country but Collins seemed better prepared and more polished. The Minnesota debate was messy all around. This one was clinical, Ossoff easily won.
thatcodingboi
I don't get it, why is it so low relative? I'm sitting at 7 years of experience in a lead role at $470k a year. There's no way I am doing your job 5 times over.
thatcodingboi
without depending on API availability and rising costs
I am sorry, what? API pricing is dropping, more and cheaper models are available while hardware prices keep rising. No way you are justifying this with "cost" as a reason.

8 years of experience with my last 4.5 at AWS

No I'm just capable of choosing a model that is sufficient for completing the task at hand. If you think needing frontier models from closed labs for basic tasks is a flex, it isn't.
You're probably one of those people that can't wait for a new model release, excited to ask it to one shot minecraft.
thatcodingboi
Half the time its a fake podcast, they just set it up like one so their tiktoks have more "authority"
thatcodingboi
I think they will do the same very limited float to keep the price high that spacex did
I said claude, I still use the models from time to time, my company has an unlimited token budget so I switch all the time to test things out.
Thinking opus 5.5 is by far the best is not a serious take, you could argue its good at some things over other models but its not really in a lead by much, and if those things aren't valuable to you its not a valuable model.
The amount of tokens it generates compared to much faster models alone takes it out of contention for me, and thats before we get into personal tastes in output which again has killed any anthropic model for me after 4.8
