Ask this the orchid board or the American orchid society. You’re def not going to get an answer from here that’s for sure.

If you’re not planning to divide it to have more plants, then leave it. What works for me with old pbulbs that have no roots, I just let them hang off on the outside of the pot so there’s more room in the front for the newer potential growth.
theantideej
I would say yes. My forbesii’s are starting to push out buds and bloom as well. Maybe you have an alba variety.
theantideej
It def is possible, it’s def a lot taller than a lot regular kingianums.
theantideej
Den kingianum or a possible hybrid of it.

I joined a college beginners class and got adopted by intermediate players who taught me more than what the teacher could, then just started playing higher level open gyms.

Try the orchid flasking or orchid from seed groups on fb. Theres always people with extra seeds and some for trades.
theantideej
Really strong pruning shears will help cut those.
theantideej
Nope, post a pic, I wanna see.
theantideej
Judging by how the crown is forming turn it 90° to the left.
theantideej
Hmm. Then I dunno. The first could be bud blast from what someone said earlier. The 2nd def has to be some kind of infection just cuz of the way it melted like that.
I would cut, sanitize, and quarantine the second just for a bit. If these pots drip down to other pots below, it could spread.
theantideej
Ohh another SF local. Do the spikes get water on them? I’m gonna assume these are all inside too?
theantideej
How do you water? And what are temps like?
theantideej
Looks like they got an infection especially that 2nd one.
theantideej
This one is a Renanthera
theantideej
Giving me Vanda tricolor vibes
theantideej
Those are aphid exoskeletons.
theantideej
Looks infected.
theantideej
Yes, new roots; no, continue same care. It’s liking whatever you’re doing with it.
theantideej
This has been dead a while ago.
theantideej
I personally would sieve it and rinse it through to get rid of some of those bugs and some of those finer particles.
As for the fertilizer, those are usually slow release so it’s fine, it’s not a lot to do damage.
theantideej
The fact that you bent the rhizome like that says rot has set in. I wouldn’t be hopeful.

I can see that. The orchidboard can be iffy with replies especially if your post gets pushed down with other posts. Have you tried reaching out sowing groups on FB?
