I once tried using AI to generate something for me (this was before we all learned how much resources they burned) and I was so unsatisfied by the constant redos that I ended up drawing the damn thing myself.

I remember someone proposed a mechanic in which you get to build giant fuck-off artillery cannons, but you also have to create the supply chain to produce ammo for them.

"It costs 300 originium, 200 ferrium, and a shit-ton of sandleaf to fire this gun five times per minute."

Would you argue that rather than a uniform improvement/decline, the quality of individual marines varies widely in 40K compared to 30K? It would match the change from the united crusading Empire in 30K to the fragmented bloated Imperium of 40K. It would also match the change from a larger Legion-based structure (so there's only twelve different ways a given marine might be trained) to the numerous Chapter-based system (there's hundreds of different marine training regimens).

"If the instructions aren't played in the next 15 minutes, you're all allowed to leave."

They were on horseback instead of footslogging it with the peasants, but at least they were there.

The WWI and the rise of snipers really changed changed a lot about how warfare was conducted.

Excellent. Time go on Butlerian Jihad against the Abominable Intelligence!

you can use some xiragen (control port 6/min) to make some liquid xiranite (xiragen + water).

What facility does this? AFAIK, there's no recipe involving pure gaseous xiragen and water..

My favorite was roleplaying as an AC-130:

Hover in the air and rain down exploding Charge shots.

several thousand tests

Whoever got to test these thousands of times is very lucky.

Basketballs, huh.

Witching Hour's design philosophy has always been funny to me because as a Ses'qa corporation, you'd expect them to go the Mieszko route and design colorful and "friendly"-looking weapons (Liino's spear looks like something out a Magical Girl anime) in line with the "marketable Sarkaz" theme enforced by Ses'qa. Remember, Last Rite's very marketable outfit was designed by them. But no, they can't help themselves from adding menacing spiky bits because mall goth aesthetics are apparently inherent to Sarkaz genes.

"Assistant to the Board/Director/Biggest Table."

Remember: Darling was the one who built the HRAs that gave the Bureau a fighting chance against the Hiss in the first game. From Jesse's perspective, he was nothing but helpful.
From the comments on Darling's "Dynamite" video:

"Runes don't have power, it's just an outdated superstition" people when the symbols of 67 drive them into a blind rage.

(it's me, I'm people)

Tbf, presenting stagnant and/or outdated styles as the cutting edge of fashion isn't uncommon. A necron could claim that they're an innovative fashionista, even though their primary style is clearly derivative of the Szaregon Dynasty.

Damn, you raise a great point. Can't argue with that.

I used to play FGO; they handled it by introducing a point cost based on rarity. While you hypothetically could fill out a team with Max Rarity units, you wouldn't have enough points to equip them all with rare equipment. A medium-rarity unit with strong equipment is potentially more useful than a max-rarity with weaker equipment, and some low-rarities could shine with a strong max-rarity support (supports are king in that game).

I yet to see such a system implemented in a 3D gacha; Max Rarity units are always superior to low rarities in every way that matters and there's no downsides to fielding a pure max-rarity team.

Tangential, but there is something quintessentially Japanese about creating a ship that excels in a "frictionless vacuum" scenario but barely tolerates an environment with any level of unpredictability. I'm in a couple of gaming communities that involves players all over the world, and the Japanese are usually the ones developing hyper-optimized builds that require the stars to align and doesn't allow for deviation from the plan.

if you took Dead Space and swapped the main character for a womank It would qualify as ryona for sure.

Not sure about that; I played the mobile spinoff of Dead Space and it was pretty gruesome (and not sexy) as well.

The lack of environmental interactions is my main gripe with Resonant compared to Control. I feel like the gravity shifting was a missed opportunity for environmental combat: imagine being able to walk onto any surface rather than just the designated zones, or being able to manipulate an enemy's gravity to juggle them from different angles.

Floaty boys can't dodge a chair that's coming from directly behind them.

"Ah, so you've dodged first launch. But what about second launch?"
