On April 1st, my mom told me she has breast cancer. I wish it had been a joke. (self.reddit.com)

At 19 I came across and started dating again the boy I had dated in 7th grade (first boyfriend). He told me about how much it had hurt him when he baked cookies from scratch for me and I gave them to all my friends without trying one. I barely remembered that but it was obviously something that had jaded him early on. It forced me to consider how many times I had acted without considering how it might affect others. I changed that.

When I was 16 about 10 of us dropped acid, including my brother. While I was very much still tripping, he tried to strangle me. I wouldn't have survived if my male friend hadn't been in the same room (It took 3 paramedics to eventually contain him).

I ran outta gas a few years ago (my mom's car had a weird gas gauge) and I coasted as far as I could out of the way of traffic. Unfortunately this meant kind of cutting off a group of pedestrians crossing the street. Instead of being pissed off, this group of guys decides to help me out by giving me a lift to the nearest station. As I waited for one to get his car keys from his hotel room, I chatted with the others and lo and behold: redditors in the wild. I got today you, tomorrow me'd.

Technically true. I lived on near Flavel & 82nd for a good year and I wouldn't feel all that much safer walking the mall area at night, though. It's definitely the furthest south that I would label as such, personally. I thought I'd point out to non-locals that it's not in the stereotypical "Portlandia" area of Portland.

My friend was inside the mall at the time. Actually, her and I were having a conversation earlier this week about how she needs to move out of the area. "Felony Flats" lives up to its name yet again.

This is great. It's terrible, but great to show some of the shit that happens. Just last week when I was walking my boyfriend's new dog, I actually got petted by a stranger trying to hit on me. Yes, you read it correctly...creepy.

Age 12: Don't break this boys heart. In your self-absorbed hormonal fog, you haven't noticed that he is already growing into the most incredible man. You'll date him again in 7 years and it will all be so painfully clear that you were meant to be. You don't need to prove to yourself you're wanted. Confidence isn't an extension of the attention men pay to you. It should come from within.

I always fall down outrageously often....no difference if I've had 1 or 7 drinks.

My boyfriend has always had a thing for dumping full bags of chips on the carpet and proceeding to eat them.

Twas sick, and had been spitting my nasty ass phlegm into a cup on my desk. Yeah well...a few days later my mom brought me home a drink from the same fast food place. As you can imagine, I took a giant nasty gulp of festering Fanta and phlegm. I quickly spit what i could back into the cup, grabbed a tiny decorative bottle of vodka that I had on my shelf, poured it in my mouth and swished for a few minutes before brushing my teeth.

I was 14 when I started dating my 19 year old boy friend. It really depends on the people.

tinaluvsaxl

Oh shit. I think my wig fell off.

Plenty of people.

I think my mom has the same line of thought. Her response was "Cut the motherfucker off, I'd rather have my life." Thanks! :)

tinaluvsaxl

Yes, she is the most positive person I know, but I can tell she is feeling pretty hopeless right now.

tinaluvsaxl

I'm sorry to hear that...good luck to both your parents.

Umm...did he do a Kamehameha?

My boyfriend and I both have hair past our waists. This times 2.

tinaluvsaxl

Yeah mine comes with the blatant ignorance too. Uptoke.

I always hold my breath during movies, tv, etc. when a character has to. It's like a mild OCD. I just have to know if I could do it!

It is exactly what you make of it, like anything. Some people love Christmas for the presents, some celebrate Jesus, some like it for the charitable aspects of the holiday, etc. (I like it for the eggnog and rum!)

Personally, the best Valentine's dinner I've ever had took place at a Burger King. But, of course, there are women who might shit themselves if that happened to them.

yummmmmmm so good.
