Funny you say what. The parties did a 180 in the early 20th Century and the POTUS, along with most his staff and my parents, either don't know, or refuse to acknowledge it.

Changing parties means admitting you were wrong.
A lot of humans have trouble with that.

The good news is, because of this my father (who is a die hard republican), isn't voting next week.
He refuses to ever vote for Dem, but the gas prices are driving him insane, so he can't find it in him to support anyone.

As much as we would like to turn republicans, just making them give up is also nice.
