Make sure its abet accredited and check what your licensing state board options are. In florida for example, a civil masters from an abet program is a door for your EI/PE licensure. I currently have a m1 16gb air, and i have but i mainly use it for local ai, video editing, automations, software development, game dev. My biggest bottleneck is ram for the tasks i do thats why i want to get a m5 32gb air, but im holding off since my m1 is still kicking strong. I also use it as my command center to control my windows ssh machines at home that do local ai stuff and automations for me

Im sure most people here would advise the pro, since it has the fan and wont thermal throttle. But i personally only stick to the Air, m5 13”air with 32gb ram and 512gb is the only macbook id get next. I like the portability, that it has no fan/sound. But thats just me
