It's probably better for both of you if you just stop talking to them.

Someone keeps saying vague things to me without thinking them through first, and it's so fatiguing that I don't even try anymore. I just automatically say "what do you mean?" and that offloads some of the decoding pressure to them.

The key is to be in the habit of audiating everything your hear that you can't already instantly identify.

It's how Putin claims to view it, but we have no way of telling how he actually views it. Either way, he benefits from breaking apart NATO and the EU.

China doesn't want to allow Russia to fail in Ukraine. Currently, most people seem to be looking at the war without bearing Taiwan in mind. Once China moves on Taiwan, supporting Ukraine will be a lot harder, and it's likely that the West will be even less united while Russia will be more emboldened.

Russia has the capacity to make a lot of increasingly more effective weapons. They also have a huge number of people they could conscript.

I'm not expecting a land invasion any time soon, but a war wouldn't need to involve a land invasion to cause serious shortages.

Countries voluntarily joining NATO isn't expansionism.

to7m

They don't need to finish that war first though. They have a wartime economy, plenty of resources left to throw into the war machine, and backing from China.

to7m

NATO isn't expansionist, Russia is.

to7m

It seems like war with Russia is inevitable.

to7m

I doubt that. I think instruction sets as we know them are going to become incomprehensible to humans by then.

to7m

Ah I see what you mean. Yeah, that's indefensible programming; dragging the dial just over the maximum should keep it at the maximum rather than snap to any other value.

to7m

What do you mean "crosses the center"? Why would anyone go near the center of the knob with the cursor?

to7m

I can't be sure, neither can you

to7m

That doesn't add up. I don't have any crazy exes. I can't think of anyone that would want to stalk me. And surely if someone did, they'd just make their own fake account to do so instead of using a service that surely most people are completely unaware of?

to7m

I can't imagine why anyone would do that instead of just viewing it normally

to7m

It's not exactly the same. One method is redefining time, the other is adjusting operating times based on time of year, which some businesses already do.

To debug, you should make a minimal reproducible example.

For example, you surely don't need to include the code relating to the user_input variable to reproduce this issue?

The resolution issue is one of the reasons dials should be ideal. The further the cursor is from a dial, the more effective resolution you should have. Sadly this is often not the case.

to7m

A draggable number is an interesting idea. Maybe clicking it could make a translucent slider appear so there's a visual cue of what exactly the dragging would do.

to7m

That is the complete opposite of what I would want, and sounds very unintuitive to me. It should just be the angle and nothing else in my opinion, that way the dial is always pointing at the cursor.

to7m

I understand the appeal of making a proof of concept for a novel idea, but if hate for Ardour is driving you, why not contribute to Ardour to improve it?

to7m

They seem like a good concept to me because you should be able to drag away from the knob for increased distance and resolution, but the knob often doesn't end up pointing towards the cursor for some reason. If they consistently did then I think I'd like them. But it seems like because there's no way to make that standard, I should just use sliders for everything which is a sad compromise:(

A positive view of their own religion, which could influence their offspring or peers to become religious too. This causes problems because if those other people take the religion seriously enough, they may follow it more accurately to source texts.

to7m

Sure, but Oma helped with Daniel too

to7m

Will make a note to do so. My requirements are probably quite different from yours though (I want the easiest and quickest keybed, and so far nothing is beating the Nord Electro, which is annoying because I want 88 keys).

I'm a jazz pianist and can't remember the last time I used Roman numerals. I'm better at transposing at sight than reading Roman numerals because they're so uncommon. Plus, OP doesn't learn songs from reading anyway.
