And that's summer.

Jesus Christ what a mess.
Owners who have leeched the club dry for decades in the style of neglectful parents who give you a little bit of the money you've earned as pocket money, and keep the rest.
Minority owner who make the "sporting decisions" of the club who struggle with decisions and sport, who hires inept seniors who sack people that disagree with them and prefers to spend his time criticising immigration in a country he fled for tax reasons (and still gets the stats wrong when quoting them).
A manager who was previously sacked from Boro and is clearly, utterly out of his depth. Incapable of responding to changing match conditions (such as playing against 10), incapable of understanding why relying on players like Tielemans to play the transition running role or expect Mbeumo to play as a target man to link counters is dumb, will bring on Zirkzee at 80 mins every match to try to change the outcome.
A bunch of players who couldn't motivate themselves if you held a gun to their head with the only consistency from them is the point in the season they collectively throw their toys out the pram and seemingly forget how to even do the basics.
Honestly, sick to death of all of them. Just turn the club off and on again

Few things on that
We've seen how managers fail at more chaotic clubs when taken away from well-ran and structured clubs. Potter, Frank to name a few. There is absolutely nothing to suggest the same wouldn't happen
He'd be mental to leave right now. It took him a while to get going at Brighton, and he definitely wouldn't get that at United. But he has Brighton playing so well, little benefit to him walking away at this point when he can continue to develop and learn as a manager in that environment
He'd cost a huge amount of money and United aren't all that free with cash at the moment
Genuinely, why would he want to?
I'm not actually sure what the answer is right now. I imagine they land with Nagelsmann for a while but doubt he's the answer. Could be wrong.

Sorry, my post should have sounded like I was agreeing with the user, as I massively think it's a coaching problem but I realise I didn't make it implicit.
We can call player's attitudes a problem, we can say that Wilcox is unfit for his role and both those things are true, but at the end of it all their performance and their pathetic showings are hugely down to the terrible coaching.
tocitus
Person on internet's feelings hurt when others point out they are likely incorrect with their reading of a situation.
tocitus
There is clearly a coaching problem as the same players from last season cannot run for the same amount.
I mean there is so much wrong with them.
They don't run anywhere near enough, they struggle with pressing.
When they do have the ball, there is barely any movement. If there is a CB on the ball it will either go to the other CB, FB or go long. If there is a midfielder on the ball, it'll probably go to any of the above people too.
I'm still not clear what a Santos does. I'd expect him, at the least, to be all over the pitch with his energy but he seems to have lost that pretty quickly in this side.
There is absolutely no structure in attack. The ball gets lobbed up there with no care. Can anyone tell me what the plan is for breaking defences down? Other than give it to Bruno?
We can talk individuals, like why are Tielemans and Mount playing so high against Bournemouth?
People point to individual errors for goals. The weird foul by Heaven, Yoro slipping, whatever that 3rd goal was. But that comes from systemic pressure that we're putting ourselves under by having absolutely no ability to retain possession, to work it up the pitch etc.
We're back to the days of the opposition defence having the easiest match of their lives. Everything is slow, ponderous, static. It's pathetic
The players are a big issue.
The manager is a big issue.
The structure of the club is a big issue.
The owners are a big issue.
It feels like fucking groundhog day.
tocitus
Ha nah they don't. They know a club legend is about to be sacked and they're singing because he's a club legend.
Definitely don't want him to have more time
tocitus
Sorry but the set up is pathetic.
Tielemans and Mount on the counter? Absolutely no shape in midfield?
The goals came from sustained pressure up top because the ball kept coming back
tocitus
His problem isn't his quality. He'll generally do quite well, making beautiful passes, working his arse off etc but then he'll pick up an injury again. And then he'll need time to get back to match fitness and then he'll get injured again.
tocitus
Carrick looks genuinely upset
tocitus
That's an awesome finish
tocitus
Zirkzee coming on is always an amusing sub. Kind of like going down to 10 men
tocitus
"Alright lads, so the plan today is to exclusively build attacks through Dalot on the LW. Wherever you are on the pitch, get it to Diogo"
In hindsight, maybe Carrick isn't a genius
tocitus
Sorry, but a lot of this team are, on paper, good players. The problem is managers like Emery use Tielemans in a smart way, understands how they fit into the tactics. Understands their strengths and weaknesses etc.
Managers like Carrick seem to have no ability to do that. Firstly, it's pretty difficult to see what the plan is on the pitch. Secondly, you have players like Tielemans being asked to cover a lot of the pitch when he doesn't have the legs for it.
I'm not trying to defend the players because they're pretty pathetic but so is Carrick's management
tocitus
Bit harsh considering he's not on the pitch
tocitus
Are United seriously trying to sit back and go direct with Mount and Tielemans on the counter?!
Bournemouth just getting the ball back time and time again
tocitus
Did you mean to reply to this comment?
tocitus
Behave, he didn't knee him. He popped his lower chest into him.
Still think it should have been red mind!
tocitus
Been plenty of matches where Chelsea have looked great this season tbf to them
tocitus
Chelsea have had absolutely no control in this game yet.
Their entire build up is waiting for Spurs to fuck it up, outside of that they seem to have no idea what to do on the ball. Defenders going long, midfielders not there for anything, getting bypassed relatively easily and not getting involved in the build up.
Spurs are seeing a lot of possession and have had more than a few good chances which should have been converted.
Both teams look like they need a striker
tocitus
Bit harsh by Robertson there
tocitus
I mean they often do things for the story, it shouldn't make it any less incredible for people though.
I remember the lizard v snakes segment. It was amazing TV, and when my ex, who worked in the production studio at the time, told me it was multiple lizards not one like it seemed, I still thought it was amazing TV.
Next people are going to be surprised by the fact that not all the noises in the show are made by that specific animal.
tocitus
What? The throw? That's always been a rule, throw in has to go into play before it bounces otherwise it's a retake
tocitus
I guess the criticism is he doesn't do even that anywhere near enough.
If he's not there for goal contributions but for control, then you'd expect to see more matches where he actually does that.
Do you think you feel this way because historically salaries have been sensitive and private?
And after an initial period it'd increase people's ability to negotiate a salary or make it more transparent when someone is interviewing etc?
