Where are you? There are people who can help, but you have to find them. I think something like co-owning her might work well for you and your dog. Try contacting local veterinarians and sharing your story (just as you wrote it here). Ask for their help finding possible co-owners. Vets know which of their clients care for their dogs and which ones don’t. Could be an older couple or someone who lost their pet and aren’t ready for a puppy. Put the word out with people you know too. Local dog training facilities might be a great resource as well. I would avoid your local shelter as they don’t know much about the people who come in to adopt.

Interview them carefully and have a contract that outlines the details of the cooperation. Have an understanding about how often they will share pictures while you are gone, or what happens if they move.
