Nah, I'm cool with the downvotes even though I tried to make it clear that this is a rant and people shouldn't take it so seriously. I'm not about to delete this post, because I think it opened up a discussion about some of the good parts about downtown. Since I work there and live nearby I appreciate that, and was one of my goals about making this post. Having people tell me about some of the stuff they appreciate in the downtown core.
You, however, are just an asshole. One out of many, but the fact that you responded to my post about my having family here and not really wanting to leave the way you did...
Well you don't know me. My mother could be ill and I don't want to leave my little brother alone if her health takes a turn for the worse, you know? The other comments I'm fine with, but when someone says that they don't want to leave the provinces because of their family, well in the future don't be an asshole about it, okay? Get some empathy, or barring that at least some basic social skills.

but quite frankly your comment here is insulting.
I'm not sure you realize, but that's sort of in response to your general attitude. Things like
Stick to our own conversation
When we're all talking about how you've removed my post. Or
so lets get that straight right now - your title is inflammatory and rude - if you disagree with my assessment of it, too bad.
Which wouldn't have been so bad, but the bolding makes things extra aggressive and does not de-escalate. Something I have been trying to do.
And who are you again?
if you don't use GNOME or RedHat - stay away from the threads discussing them. They don't concern you.
Those are all pretty aggressive, and pretty inflammatory. I went over a bit why I think I should have a right to speak on topics relating to Gnome and Redhat, even if I'm not a current user of either.
Your attitude is basically that I don't have a right to an opinion, and instead of communicating more clearly what I did wrong you seem to be doubling down on trying to make me feel small and like I shouldn't be allowed to talk to people about any of this stuff.
I recognize that this has been stressful for you, I'm the chief moderator of /r/3Dprinting (Around 900k users, more than this subreddit by a fair margin), so I understand the issues you face.
Now I may not be perfect at de-escalating and communicating (please bear with me, tempers do flair now and then), but I'm sure together we can sort this out. "Remember the human" and all that. All this stuff about how I shouldn't have an opinion and that I should just leave the conversation to my betters doesn't really seem like it's remembering the human though.
EDIT: ...and I've been permanently banned for this post.

You've got a pretty clear bias here, please try and get an outside perspective.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

People in another thread were asking if someone could do one of these for Halifax, so I did. They'll be for sale at the Crafty Fox Makerspace (Supreme Court, right next to the Titus and Dutch village intersection) for 15 dollars while supplies last.
Laser cut on an oak veneer plywood. Might make good gifts or something? They're pretty small since I didn't want to spend ages creating a bunch of intersections, and I can't really control the line widths for that type of laser cutting so making them bigger wouldn't look very good.
I've also included a PNG file for printing on regular letter paper.
We probably will replicate something similar on our etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/sootstock
