I would say there's a difference between random handouts from excited boosters to players and coordinated money to attract recruits.
It's impossible to track and control the "handshakes" and nobody would be surprised by it happening at every college. This is basically nickle and dime payments.
It's another thing to have coordinated infrastructure and promises to incoming recruits; essentially to buy recruits from another team with promises of more pay. This is radically different.

I'm not a fan of how RNG-heavy the game in general is.
But right now, PvP is heavily determined by RNG of MOD rolls. For a lot of battles, the outcome is decided before the battle even begins, due to speed imbalances.
The crazy speed MODS may be outliers. The majority of us probably fall in the fat section of the bell curve. But once you do get those outlier speed MODS, you're set.
Of course, as another poster mentioned, this probably works in CG's favor, since that encourages whales to spend more for more MODS RNG chance.
tripperda
That is what he means, but I disagree with him on which is worse
tripperda
Not really.
At least then, you reroll RNG on every battle and have a chance for luck to ebb and flow.
As it is now, a single lucky RNG roll on MODS provides indefinite advantage forevermore.

Thank you for such an intelligent addition to the conversation!

Yes, the key word in the title is "intentionally".
The point of the literary criticism isn't that the author always intentionally/consciously added the meaning, but that it often comes out subconsciously, based on what the author is/has gone through in life.

But... but... deadpool included FEET!

Do you mean ANY speed arrows or just 5-dot? I've been collecting speed arrows for 4-5 months, a combination of purchasing and farming and have WAY more than that. Counting all dots, I have around 30.
tripperda
Ha, I misread that as shutting down Thrawn by simply out-spending him

You can, but it's still not always cheaper. And certainly your time can be a major factor.
I used to be like you and, as a homeowner, have done a fair amount of self repair at home. My fridge had some problems with venting between the freezer and fridge, I researched it, diagnosed it, ordered a new circuit board, replaced and fixed it. Much cheaper than hiring someone or getting a new fridge.
Then I had a dishwasher that was having problems. The difficulty with this is that it's not always clear which of 3-4 problems was the cause. And the debug steps were generally "replace part A and see if it resolves the problem." Each part ran $100-300. This ended up being very labor and time intensive to replace a part and see if it helped, plus costly in terms of parts. You could say replace all the parts at once, but that's cost prohibitive to replace parts that total almost as much as a new dishwasher.
And it's not a terrible surprise that older parts would be almost as much as a new dishwasher. The parts of a new dishwasher are made in bulk and shipped right away as new dishwashers are built. Older parts are made in smaller batches and have to sit in inventory. Both the cost of the part and the wharehouse to store it cost extra money (ie, money is tied up in maintaining inventory, instead of turning inventory rapidly and investing elsewhere, plus the wharehouse costs rent/maintenance).

The consumer has CHOSEN a race to the bottom in quality/price with their purchases so that's what we find in stores.
I would say we see both ends of the spectrum (depending on what product).
Take for example tools, both shop and kitchen. You can often find higher quality tools that cost more and last longer, in addition to cheaper tools that break easily. Both markets exist and people gravitate based on their consumer choice.
Cars are similar to a degree. They don't really build cars to last 20-30 years, but there are certainly higher end cars with better craftsmanship than some of the lower tier cars (that isn't to say there aren't more expensive cars that break easily).

Everyone's making good points, but I also think there's a part they're missing.
Let's say making that pen/widget requires 5-7 parts. Let's say one of those parts lasts 10 million clicks. That number may be arbitrary. Or that number may actually be driven by physical abilities. The material used may only last that long. Making that part of a material that could last 10x longer may be cost prohibitive and nobody would pay that much for the pen/widget.
Now, what about the other 4-6 parts? No sense in paying extra for those parts to last 20 million clicks if they'll generally be thrown away after 10 million clicks because the first part can't last longer. Paying less for those parts costs less and saves the producer money and isn't thrown away.
Of course, this will vary per product/cost. Some items (like cars) have parts that are expected to be replaced regularly because it's cheap relative to the overall cost. But for something smaller (like a pen), it's just cheaper and easier to replace the entire thing when it breaks down.

I'm pretty sure everyone has the same options in each slot, but the RNG itself is per individual player

I think there's a ragtag band of heroes we worship as gods who triggered a war because they didn't feel like the government was representing them or giving them a chance to be represented.
Yes, the Texas Revolution and Battle of the Alamo is really interesting history

Nov '15 with crazy diversity.
Top 5: 2 x Rex, GK, QGJ, Nihilus Top 10 adds Zaul and Tarkin Top 15 adds Phasma and Wedge
Lots of Rex though. Only 2 Zauls in top 30.

It's very RNG reliant. Very frustrating to spend 20 energy and have over half your team wiped out by AOE before you even get a move

I'm just a geek for liking the history of Mopac. But it's an interesting question of what moved. Obviously the highway wouldn't fit between that picture of the railroad and the camp. I assume the camp moved back to make room for the highway.
tripperda
Out of curiosity, what does "present day Mopac" mean?
Unlike most, I would consider the railroad itself Mopac (so would consider this the view from original Mopac). Were the railroads moved?

In addition to the events and new characters (which obviously aren't the full new content you're looking for, but take time and people to implement), there's the new Guild events coming up.
If it's as big as it looks, it's understandable that it would take a considerable amount of time. A project of that scope takes a lot of time to plan, design, implement, test and prepare for production roll out.
It wouldn't surprise me if a considerable chunk of time was in the already announced, upcoming content, most of the rest was in the new characters that have already come out and the rest was maintenance/bug fix.
You guys would have a point if there wasn't a whole new feature already announced and scheduled to be released soon.

You mean they stick to their principals in the face of facts?
Like with GMOs?

the republicans ... Went on and on about getting rid of the ACA for years then when they have the House, Senate and and Presidency they can't get it done! Trump promised his supporters a great health care system that will cover everyone and be cheaper and they believed it!!
You do realize Trump is the first President after Obama, Republican or Democrat, since ACA was passed, right? Therefore it is impossible for the Republicans to have failed to get rid of ACA while holding the Presidency before Trump.

What Empire do you have? You probably need to work on speed mods, Empire should be able to beat it, depending on which toons you have.
I just say that because Droids will have more base speed, but you'll still need speed mods to boost speed. Otherwise, you'll be frustrated because your Droids will be in the same situation as your Empire and you'll be mad about wasting the time.
tripperda
A few tips on how to beat it:
1) obviously team make-up and mods are critical. It may be too late to build up your team (ie, farm toons and mods), but maybe you can change your team selection and consolidate appropriate (speed) mods. You definitely want an AOE-heavy team, especially including stun. If your toons are not advanced enough, the following strategy tips may not make up for it.
2) I used Palpatine (7, g11, +62), Vader (7, g11, +84), Rex (7, g11, +56), IG-88 (7, g8, +26), Tarkin (7, g8, +68) and TFP (7, g10, +69). A lot of those I already had heavily geared up for Arena and Raids.
3) Be very strategic with using your AOE attacks. Try to only use 1 AOE attack per round, as you want to always have at least 1 AOE cooled down when you enter a new round. The main goal is to have AOE ready to wipe out a group of death-marked ewoks. When facing death-marked ewoks with multiple elders (primarily round 4? and 8), you'll want multiple AOEs ready to go for when elders revive.
4) Stun helps a LOT. But don't forget ability block. An ability-blocked elder can't revive others!
For example, when entering round 4 (I think it's 4) with death-marked ewoks, 2 elders and teebo, obviously start off with AOE to wipe out the death-marked ewoks first, then use a combination of stun and ability block to take out the elders. This is one of the trickier parts and can be frustrating, RNG-dependent. Especially if you take out one elder, the 2nd elder revives the 1st, then the 1st revives a death-marked ewok. In some cases, you may just ability block one while focusing on the other.
5) recognize that the level design does offer opportunities to advance your cool downs. On round 4, leave Teebo for last. If you're able to take out the elders, Teebo can't revive them and is left for himself. That's a great time to use basic attacks and let cooldowns catch up.
The non-deathmarked ewok rounds work similarly. You may need to use AOE at the start of the round because 5+ ewoks may be overwhelming, but once you get the upper hand, start using basics and defend to recover for the next round (just like you would in GW).
6) Get to know the trend/RNG. There are key parts of the challenge that are more difficult than others. Treat the challenge as "how do I not just get to the challenging parts, but play my hand to be at my best strength when I get to the challenging parts". Ie, taking advantage of some rounds to cool down.
You can do the event as many times as you like. So if you're struggling, take an attempt or two knowing you're going to get killed and just analyzing what's going on, what the timing looks like.
That is an amazing drawing, congrats!
