My social circle is overwhelmingly made up of trans people and this is an incredibly common kink among my peers, myself included (though I'm transfem).

That said, I think this kink is overwhelmingly more widespread than people may assume among the entire global population, as opposed to a phenomenon within the trans community. The average person likely doesn't have a social circle where discussing this kind of thing is as open or common, whereas at least within the spaces I frequent people are far more understanding and accepting. Our entire existence invariably pushes back against what some people (outlandishly) consider taboo, so it's natural that we're more willing to understand and accept other things considered taboo by many.

Reading through some of your other comments, is there a drug you haven't tried yet that you want to try? I've explored psychedelics quite a bit myself and find them to be something everyone should try at least once.
