I will say difficulty options are a must now days, and even more so a must from the get go. Onimusha having its hardest diff locked behind completion is stupid, and having to mod a game to get a setting you want to play is insane.

The thing with these types of games is the harder they are the more fun you can delve into the mechanics of the game. Nioh for example is super fun because its hard enough to make you want to dig into ur build and gear so much to overcome difficult fights ext.

A game that is baseline to easy makes it soo any depth is pointless if you can just beat it with spam, it hurts the game because many people will miss cool mechanics if you never need to use them.

I think this is honestly the most important thing, give the players choice for how hard it is, and dont hide the hardest modes behind completion.

If this games too easy i wil end up playing it once and moving on. If i have diff sliders, then great, i will play it multiple times over and enjoy the learning experience to get great.

I think a lot of people who tag ninja style as "easy" are just people who hate change and feel ninja mode being different isn't "nioh enough" for them and thus call it easy because u no longer need to do the core nioh mechanics and thats bad apparently, even if those mechanics are changed for other ones.

Also if we just look at both styles, i've run two characters to end game with sam and ninja , ninja is for sure easier on ng but once u get to end game sam is super easy and does way more dmg with spamming MA over and over and overall taking less dmg.

did you play the wo long 2 demo, the bosses were up there as well.

im not saying there isn't issues with there engine, but i've run n2-3 on 3 different pcs over the years and never had issues. n3 runs flawless for me even the wo long 2 alpha ran perfect bar 3 random stutters in about 30 hours of gameplay. So what im saying is , the engine can seem to run fine, what seems to be the issue in my opinion is the engine has a hard time with certain setups and people report issues on high end and low end machines.

I personally dont care for graphics so much if the gameplay is great. bayonetta is my fav game of all time and it doesn't look great now days but it plays like a dream still. nioh never looked great so its not really lost its visuals over time , its just slowly improved. Nioh 3 certainly looks better than nioh 1..

As for art style, that really isn't anything to do with the engine, its a talent thing and Fromsoft have some of the best artists in the industry, so its clear that team ninja do not, their strength has always been mechanics and gameplay. So it doesn't really matter what engine they use i still think the art style is going to be lacking, and their skill to optimise a game will still be a clear issue.

It's very obvious that the U5 engine can run great or terrible depending on the devs who make the game in it, and its clear team ninja have issues on the tech side of engines for optimisation, so im not really sure that switching engine would even make much difference. I bet for example ID devs could probably fix the optimisation issues with the katana engine pretty fast if given the chance.

una322

yeh u know what, dow3 did them better...

una322

well thats why they say the lore is just off hand information so take it with a pinch of salt

una322

what machines are people running to have such issues? i got a great cpu but my gpu isn't amazing an i've not had any issues bar rise of the ronin.

una322

bar afew strange 5 fps slow downs i had 3-4 times i was locked in at 144fps on a 3080. i thought that was pretty solid for an alpha tbh

una322

lando sounds soo pissed off now days

una322

fs get more tractors on the track, this is getting stupid now days.

una322

crazy how much better graphicly that game looks than bf6

una322

Typical ferrari text book bs lol

una322

Id recommend just reading all the books overtime, you get a much better understanding of things compared to youtubers who often give their idea of the lore and what it means over what is actually written.

If you really dont have time to read every book id honestly recommend the Greg bear trilogy for an amazing backstory into halo lore that goes pretty deep into forerunners and such.

For newer books id say just read all of kelly gays books but not until you have at least finished all the halo games. Kellys books are fantastic and she really "gets" halo. Just those books i said gives you a good undestanding of the past events in halo lore and the present to future events.

Comics are cool but a lot of it has been ret con to crap.

Last of all i would totally listen to all the I love bees audio stuff and there are some good youtube videos that just give an overview of that amazing pre halo 2 build up. And finally You have to listen to HUNT the TRUTH audio story b4 you play halo 5, its in my opinion the best story content ever put out that isn't a novel, its soo damn good, even though Halo 5 fails to deliver what it set up, its such a damn well done piece of art.

una322

The h4 statue is worth a good amount, its one of the best they did honestly. id totally display that

una322

the lollypop , the hair are perfect, the earring even , all the little touches spot on

una322

wtf was that

una322

at least they tried something new instead of getting a nioh 3 that just felt like n2.5 dlc. they need to keep trying new things thats how games get better. soemtimes it doesn't work somtimes it leads to bettter things.

una322

why remove ninja? wtf if u dont like it u dont use it... its not forced on you lol.

una322

its not because of elden ring. the lead at TN loves open world games , and wanted to do his take on it, its as simple as that. hes not chasing ER, hes just doing what he wants to try which is fine. if N3 was mission based again it would feel like n2.5. At least n3 feels like a fresh take on nioh. and i feel thats needed sometime.

una322

More enemy types, more new bosses, less re hashes. more armours and weapons for transmog. I like the dlc improvements on open world, so more of that style, where it just feels like a big level instead of more open style like the base game.

una322

Thing is as good as this trailer looks, its just a promo video to sell the idea of the game. They had no real game made to actually play. it was all concept and this is a part of that. Bioware had all the chance and time in the world to make something good and they did NOTHING for years...

Best we can hope for is EA selling the ip to a studio who will actually do something with it, Owlcat spring to mind, they have a better tone that fits ME more than Larian.

una322

no the outer worlds 2 is a good game lol. i bet u didn't even play tow2... Just because its not NV its bad? NV didn't even get the love when it released it wasn't until much later.

They also made pentiment which is great, pillars of eternity 1-2 , fantastic crpgs, hell even Grounded 1 and 2 are pretty good games if u like that type of game. They have also released more games than any other studio at MS.

una322

u dont know a good game...

una322

i disagree with obsidian being dead, they still have the guy who made fallout there, they still ahve the writer of NV. they still have the team who made pillars of eternity. The outworlds 1-2 are good games, people just wanted them to be the next NV.

una322

at least s1 had great music that went with the story beats. s2 music is an after thought
