I go back and listen to the first one, and sometimes this one, maybe every 4 or 5 years (doing it right now!). There's an urgency and vibrancy...the combination of ska/punk/core+youth+fanaticism and/or youthful energy suppressed and sublimated through that style of Christianity that comes through as energetic and engaging...especially to a young Christian me. I am not that person anymore, but I can still sort of appreciate it and see why I enjoyed it. The sound is mostly still interesting to me, but the sentiments (for me) and overly simplistic lyrics have not aged well.

Light mage is my most used LD5, extremely good for AO.

Dark mage is one of my most wanted LD5s, more of a siege unit imho.

If it's similar timing to previous years, I'd expect end of the month-ish.

The last couple years' summer collabs started later (7/30 for JJK & Tekken), and the SW versions landed in 11/12 and 11/26... Frieren started 6/29.

Doing a dive through your whole list, thanks for typing it up. I was aware of the connection, and vaguely aware of Slapstick and the whole family thing from interviews with other bands I'd heard over the years, but didn't have all the context.

I have all but 3-5 5*s (all wind! :P) I think and I still value them very highly, still doubling my chance of getting those three. I managed to score 3 new units in my last summoning session which is, yes "just" luck, but also my chances were increased via all the blessings.

It's still 2x as many changes to get what you want. That is better than 1, to me anyway.

Blessings helped with mine. If you are missing 5s, blessings are the best way you have of increasing your odds short of spending $$. Converting them to LDs is for whales who have all the 5s imho. I'm only missing a handful of 5s and I still convert every dupe to blessings.

I wonder how much just giving us 5 or 6 options instead of 3 (although sometimes I only get 2??) would help with this. So many times I find just a pile of shit or negative choices. There are some bonkers combos (got a Deadpool with the destroy weakest card for +5 yesterday...) but also no much dead weight and/or augs that are just really bad for your deck in a way that they probably can't determine ahead of time (then again, throw some tokens at the problem :P).

It's going to be extremely unlikely to see anything coded without at least AI assistance these days. It's up to the individual game devs to make the game shine beyond that. Visuals are going to be pretty key since AI still can't do that well there are jobs for artists for a bit longer! (To be clear I think/hope there will be art jobs ~forever, but it may transition more into "art directing" AI art generators...or maybe they just create the initial visions and the AI does the animation work...who knows...the times are a changing...).

Superstar is usually the one I'm tempted to SKIP (except in maybe 2 cases), but I haven't yet been able to make myself, it just feels so bad to get nothing while you know the other player just got the double on their BP or something :P.
