My Minecraft group has pivoted to Valheim with the 1.0 release. Good God, this game has a difficulty curve.

warlock415

SNES, Super Mario World, Any% glitchless as I said last time this came up.

warlock415

"Commander Mike Metcalf. Callsign: VIPER."

warlock415

... wait.

How did Gollum manage to bite off Frodo's finger with six teeth?

"All right!" said Bilbo, not daring to disagree, and nearly bursting his brain to think of riddles that could save him from being eaten.

"Thirty white horses on a red hill,
First they champ,
Then they stamp,
Then they stand still."

That was all he could think of to ask-the idea of eating was rather on his mind. It was rather an old one, too, and Gollum knew the answer as well as you do.

"Chestnuts, chestnuts," he hissed. "Teeth! teeth! my preciousss; but we has only six!"

warlock415

Do they rely on people only showing up on Christmas and Easter?

warlock415

Don't give Trump ideas.

warlock415

Corte Madera

warlock415

Had she decided to retire years before 2016, we would not have such a badly stacked court.

You know Mitch would have shamelessly blocked anyone Obama tried to nominate.

warlock415

Reminds me of the river monster that menaced London until it was caught and ground up for sausage.

That's right; it was the beast of Thames; it was the wurst of Thames.

warlock415

"So sad to hear that your house is gonna burn down."

warlock415

Okay so.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that I have 900 dollars in my checking account.

900 is also 30^2

2! = 2, so 900 is also 30^2!

Since 2! = 2, (2!)! = 2.

so 900 is also 30^(2!)!

... is also 30^((2!)!)!

... etc

So now let me just make that 2 into 20...

A quick back of the envelope suggests that just 3020! is on the order of 1.6 x 10 ^ (3.6 x 10 ^ 18), or a number 3.6 quintillion digits long.

EDIT: The really horrifying part of this is that suddenly the amount of US currency not legally in my possession is basically a rounding error.

I'm reminded of some software that claimed to have "fixed" its Y2K problem, so we set the clock to 12/31/99 23:59 and waited.

The next time it booted, it displayed the year 19100. And then 19101, in 2001. The last I saw was 19104...

warlock415

And the band played on...

warlock415

MASH
Mythbusters
Clarkson/Hammond/May era Top Gear
Good Eats
Original Iron Chef

warlock415

A dollar bill

warlock415

They both produce flat notes.

warlock415

Thank you! Turns out I have ESPN Unlimited via my xfinity.

EDIT: For the record, it finally worked with NBC. God, it's good to hear "Randy Hahn with Drew Remenda" again.

warlock415

Dammit, I recall Xinifty used to do on-demand replays for the next day or so.

warlock415

Well, that was more white-knuckly than it needed to be. Also, glad to see Trouba step up.

Anyone know where to stream a game replay? Xfinity or something? I thought I saw an old friend with... distinctive... hair in one of the crowd shots?

I feel like both of them, especially Link, are performing a persona now and the comedy is less natural.

That and most of the games/activities no longer interest me.

warlock415

It's still up.

That poor neighbor.

warlock415

My favorite fact about German Discworld novels is that the publisher once inserted an ad for instant soup

And he's not the only one of my favorite authors that they did this to. Erm. To which they had done this..

EDIT: GNU Terry Pratchett. May his name keep moving; may he never be forgotten.

warlock415

Sounds like it. "“I had to lose 106 pounds in less than three months – that’s really where it became challenging for me,” said Goggins. “I knew that if I stopped training or became stagnant, there were no calories being burned; so I just basically trained all day long.”"

The man has clearly never heard of basal metabolic rate.

At least with a private company at some point the company needs to make money, so if it has too much deadweight it pays the price.

Why do you equate "eventually profitable" with "allowed to exist"?

Part of the purpose of government is to do those things which cannot profit (or should not charge enough to profit) yet benefit society.

Would you look at a library, a post office, and a public park and say, "Well, are they making profit?"
