In grand live? Nah. You're punished way to hard when there's a turn where you lose energy and get no tokens.
weealex
Fujimasa March too
weealex
The lesson was learned from this scenario and you're not punished for racing
weealex
If it was one of those old madcatz, you could cause real damage. Those things were bricks. Terrible parts, but solid body
weealex
I dunno, I liked this
weealex
No. If my guys win it was cuz I'm so awesome that I overcame the cheating. If I lose its because of cheating
weealex
It's slightly higher risk but it's still functional. You lose the frame 0 straightaway spurt and run the risk of losing your unique in an end heavy lobby

Is there any sport in the US without an east coast bias? NBA? I mean, even horse racing has an east coast bias
weealex
It kinda makes sense. He's shown issues in the past when he has to fight for the front position and Napoleon Solo is another front runner. If Maggie gets position he's got a good shot to go wire to wire, but if he has to burn a lot of energy fighting for position, he'll probably gas out like at the Whitney
weealex
Running her front seems bad as you're sacrificing your gold heal. IMO you run her pace and stack a ton of mid race so you can steal Angling and Scheming or just to hit the Kita inherits
weealex
I mean, active lawsuit.
weealex
That percentage should be 200%

Is a combination of things. Most of the Vikings have been together for a while so there's a lot of good chemistry that's been built up. They trust in the system and know that the other guys trust too. With that, the entire defensive scheme is built around players being able to dump their assignment with the trust that someone else will pick it up. Then, because the players have a lot of freedom during the play, it makes disguising the coverage and blitz packages stronger because the players have all shown themselves as able to go into different roles on the defense. Plus the interior linemen have shown themselves to be a wall. So you need players that have versatile skill sets, that all buy into the scheme, that all trust each other to correctly trade roles, and that are able to intelligently make those adjustments.

100%?
Nah, we're going to find a way to get that to 102%
weealex
And the score will be 5-4

You know that old quote about arguing with stupid people? Our game plan is basically that

The wooden spoon is pretty universal. You'll see it with moms from Louisiana to Java

It's extremely unlikely we'll see more US triple crown winners outside of maybe Bob Baffert's stable. Other trainers don't like the small amount of time between the crown races and the new "tour" series announced between Belmont and Churchill makes it even less appealing.

Most of the game stories are much more positive because they take the "what could have been" route. For example, the IRL Manhattan Cafe's owners were debating sending him to France to compete in L'Arc, probably the most prestigious turf race in the world. The problem was that they knew he traveled poorly and as such the trainer was vehemently opposed. In the end, they took a vote and decided to send him. He ran poorly, got hurt, and had to retire. In game, the same vote takes place (though in this case it's training staff plus Cafe voting) and the vote decides to stay in Japan so they can finish their career on familiar soil and stay healthy
Stuff like that also means they can avoid the big tragedies like Rice Shower dying during his retirement race

Some rough use and not changing the fluid would do it. Or just bad luck
weealex
IRL in his final year Oguri ran an absolutely brutal schedule and suffered repeated injuries because his new owner was desperate to recoup the funds spent on purchasing him (which is its own stupid story). Repeated poor finishes along with injuries created a massive call for his retirement as fans were afraid he would be run into a grave. At least one fan threatened to firebomb the owners business of Oguri wasn't retired

I dunno if I can say the plot is super deep, but Interspecies Reviewers has some of the best worlds building I've seen in a while
weealex
If it's front passenger side are you sure it's oil? That's usually where the air conditioner drops water from condensation

There's one other significant aspect: lifelong employment used to be the standard in Japan. Moving companies was rare. If you got fired or quit, at best you get an entry level position somewhere else. At worst you're slinging bricks. When you got stuck in an empty position, often your best hope was to keep your head down and hope the guy that put you there gets arrested for fraud or something
In theory, worker protections are stronger in Japan now, but in practice few are even aware of the existence of these laws and only a fraction of those aware of those laws are willing to act in them
I swear, the number of times I've heard of these shit shops straining transmission instead of oil is astounding. You'd think someone would notice definitely not brown fluid draining
