You can also limit the input on the first floor with a valve. But a buffer at the highest point is the easiest solution.

I'd unlock the t4 belts first by manually crafting 100 computers and then start building that computer factory tbh.

weijlander

THOSE ARE ROOKIE NUMBERS! ;)

weijlander

So how exactly did you get fucked then. Because nothing you screenshot here makes it clear what your issue was and how they tried to resolve it.

weijlander

Is it me or is your brightness and/or contrast set rediculously high? Or is that just the camera? 😅

weijlander

Chad Tracktor is pretty sweet though...

weijlander

I stand corrected. Well I hope someone creates it for you then or you manage to do so yourself. Wouldn't an executable hooking into the game still add load overall though if run on the same pc?

weijlander

Even if this mod is created the modder also needs to create an android and iOS app or a website which collects the data the app sends. They'd also need to make it so the app or website can connect to your satisfactory server and is allowed to collect this data. I'd say its a bit far fetched. And this mod does add a load to your game as your game has to send all the active data to your app/website and is constantly updating this. I'm not even sure if you can even stream this info or if the multiplayer has build in security measures that don't allow this. Let alone if an app or website can easily integrate this.

There was a mod called FicsIt Network which attempted something similar like this. Not sure if it's still being developed.

weijlander

So instead of just having an in game menu which tells you this info you'd rather be switching devices all the time and jump in and out of streams to look at data which you won't really be looking at most of the time. Not to mention the amount of effort that it's going to take to make this possible compared to just integrating this in game. Where it also makes more sense to have.

weijlander

It makes sense but I think it's still too niche and pointless. Just add it in game instead of wasting a lot of resources into making an app for android and iOS and integrating that into your game just so a few people can see production numbers on a phone or 2nd monitor which they could just as easily see in game. It would also increase bandwidth usage and require server capacity. All this for something which sounds cool but is really pointless outside of your game.

They reveal a new alien artifact you can collect. It calls you in Japanese spoken by anime characters. The purpose of the artifact is still a WIP though and no info is known about it.

weijlander

All hail the Floating Steel Donut.

weijlander

Wouldn't it make more sense to not make that external? Your idea is to be playing the game and then grabbing your tablet or phone to check on factories in the game you're already playing to see power consumption and production? Why not simply make an in game feature for that then? (I think there's a mod for that.)

I get the feeling you're either really into doing the math yourself or you simply haven't heard of Satisfactorytools.com

Making industrial encased beams with pipes costs about 1/3rd less steel than with normal beams. For the 375 encased beams and 1350 pipes you'd need 5962,5 steel ingots. If you were to use beams to make the encased beams you'd need 8025 steel. Which is a good example as it saves you 2000 steel ingots pm choosing pipes over beams.

Of course I didn't factor in all the other things needed for the heavy modular frames.

weijlander

Yes, obviously. As making IEB's with pipes requires about 2/3rd of the steel as with beams. So you can make more IEBs with the same amount of mats using pipes instead of beams (if concrete isn't a limiting factor)

There might be plenty of iron and coal but having to go through the effort of transporting everything to the spot you need can be tiresome. Leaving the game running or not makes no difference for this. Unless you're still manually loading iron and coal into your factories..?

There's plenty of resources, sure if you're only making indu beams on location I guess it doesn't matter much other than the fact you'd be able to make about 50% more with pipes out of the same resources.

If you're actually using them for some big factories however where you make and need more than just beams than this alternate recipe is one you really want.

weijlander

Beams don't actually save power. In the whole picture you need more iron and coal and thus more miners and more foundries. And with the added foundries you roughly take the same amount of space with either factory.

weijlander

Pipes are most resource effective. You need less steel and slightly less power to produce the same amount of EIB's. Eventhough they are produced a little slower in the assembler you need less foundries and (depending on your the amount you make) less miners which balances out the amount of space required to build the factory. More info and numbers can be found on the wiki. This is why I choose pipes.

I ran it about a year ago on n I5 4300 with 16gb memory and a radeon 7850. You should be fine 😅

weijlander

If that's the case just look for another uranium node first before starting nuclear. I've made a turbo fuel plant first and have no issues creating 200 batteries a minute with the alternate recipe.

weijlander

You wouldn't be mining uranium yet if you didn't have drones. So that should solve that issue 😅

weijlander

Wait till you get to Turboi Fuel

Turboi fuel

It offers both physical as emotional support.
