Not OP but I was able to source the cable from eBay for around 15 US. You can separate the enclosure and replace the cable by desoldering two pads and replacing with the new cable. The enclosure was glued but will snap back together without the glue.

This is for the power adapter for a MacBook btw.

On the first if A is high the transistor can conduct from drain to source, but won't because B is not conducting, unless both A and B are high then Both transistors can conduct so that makes and and gate. The second one is a little weird because it's drawn funny but if you flipped gate one, the A gate, across the y axis you can see if a is high it will conduct to ground or if b is high it will conduct making an OR gate. Edit -- actually a nor gate if you look at where the output is, as was pointed out to me, missed that on my first pass. No current flow means a 0 voltage drop across the resistor and both ends of it are at Vdd, Thanks!
