People are on some conspiracy theory its only going viral because of random twitter accounts. And not because celebrities like Charlie xcx is promoting it. The director also dated some high profile celebrities {Dua Lipa, Emrata) and has a film coming out starring Anna Taylor Joy.
The video was recommended to me on YouTube. It was already doing numbers on Instagram as well. Its hard not to share it after seeing it.

Yeah people forgot he had a gf & baby when he blew up in fame, then suddenly out attending Sabrina's concerts. The breakup was inevitable but he probably didn't expect it would be as bad as it did. If anything it just prolonged the inevitable backlash for abandoning his family.

It's a weird joke to make. Kinda mirrors gay guys who like to go after straight guys in relationships.

I think most can't cope how romanticized Rules was and with Angel its just meaningless sex with a stripper. I guess you could say it doesn't feel as deep or doesn't have the same yearning, emotional bond with Jules. But I actually love her facial expressions, like someone being giddy, finally being confident enough to own her sexuality.

Criticizing a culture you have no lived experience in displays a lot of ignorance. You don't get it, then refuse to take our word for it. And insists that a westerner gets to decide for us?
majority of criticism of Uncle Roger comes from East Asians themselves
The author of the paper you cited is from America.
Uncle Roger is South East Asian. We have a mix of Malay and Chinese influences here & more. The only time he got backlash from China is when he criticized the CCP.
It is ignorant that someone who doesn't share our culture and doesn't attempt to learn from it is now the arbitor whose accent is native or not.
You should also be probably aware that South East Asiaans face discrimination from East Asian Countries. The salt on the wound just keeps piling on. 😂

You already said it making fun of cooking methods, and not Hersha being Indian or a woman. Most of his jokes really are about white people and western chefs botching Asian cuisine.
You really missed the point if you think Uncle Roger character is meant to generalize all Asian people 💀 his fashion & mannerisms is specific to South East Asian GenX/Boomer demographic. He's not meant to be relatable for everyone and that's OK.
If Kenji's problem was merely white people being racists, it is solved by a simple block and muting those terms. He didn't need to keep bringing it up for years. But Kenji is a malicious person and apparenrly this is not the first time he erased other cultures. He once claimed he is the only non-white person in Serious Eats. He has history. I do not trust his grandstanding on Asian hate while he is the source of hate being thrown at another Asian content creator.

Uncle Roger is not a satirical character like Stephen Colbert. So that comparison is not relevant. Uncle Roger is an actual type of elderly person who likes to scold young people for cooking things wrong.
Southeast Asia in particular is mix of different cultures. And in Malaysia, Chinese people are not the majority. Kindly don't make assumptions like that as if just because we are living in Asia and perhaps to you we all look alike, we somehow won't understand what it feels like to be discriminated against. Jesus Christ.

Racism, prejudice, colorism etc are not unique to Americans. We experience it too even if we are all Asians here or even the same nationality. We all have different experiences in life but that doesn't give us the right to color someone else's art and humor in a malicious light. He accused Uncle Roger's videos adding to Asian hate. That is a foul statement to make.
Nigel is a Chinese-Malaysian who was born and raised in Malaysia, and have brought East/South East Asians closer together for having a shared culture.
Kenji is telling on himself if all he sees are white people imitating Uncle Roger's accent and not the predominantly Asian fanbase Nigel has.

Wait until you realize the entire set looks like a dollhouse. Whether to match Kevin's size or a reference to that tweet.

That guy converted to Catholicism last minute then ends up being a bad omen.

Most criticisms on the Uncle Roger character don't know what he is referencing. Uncle Roger depicts that type of elder who likes to criticize the younger generation in general about tradition & culture. And likely lost on Asians who's fully assimilated on western culture.
They just hear the accent and judge it as a bad thing, when in reality the older generation who didnt grow up with western media / English education has thick accents and bad grammar. It is also telling when these people deem "fob" characteristics as negative stereotyping.
These people also like to ignore his videos primarily mock white people fucking up Asian cuisine. If anything westernized Asians also get hit by this sentiment because they are far removed from their grandparents' mother culture and doesnt have a full grasp of what makes something an authentic local dish.
Most importantly, the audacity to think every English based content revolves about their western experience. Nigel grew up in Malaysia, the audience he is mostly speaking to is East / South East Asians.

Interestingly, a similar bot claim in Blake Lively's complaint. Drake uses the same law firm she does too.

About Reynolds, it's not really making him look good. I think Lively is getting flack for something that's actually Reynolds idea. It unearths rumors about him and Tim Miller, an actor having a bigger say than a director and the scabbing rumors during Deadpool x Wolverine. The alcohol promo is under Ryan's gin company. The carhartt product placement in IEWU also doesnt feel like Lively's style. +

I can only sit and take so much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don't respond too.
I have to respond now because it's gottin to a place where there are too many lies being crossed. I deactivated my account because I can no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work. The messages I have received no person should ever have to read them. Absolute lies, hatred, disgusting commentary about my appearance, character, how I am as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine.
Dragging my character and everything i worked extremely hard for and stand for.
Talking about how I was a heroine baby and how I grew up and dragging my dear mother into it also.
Knocking on my grannies door.
Sitting outside my baby boys house intimidating them. That's crossing a line.
Each and every day I work harder to push myself on every level to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy. I want to provide opportunities for him to learn, fail and grow. I want him to be able to look up to his daddy, to have full trust in me and know I will have his back no matter what.
I need you to remember he has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older.
Please be respectful to all
Thank u x
Funnier because its written by a woman. Joe is so delusional its comical.
