anything incriminating the the remaining documents has been destroyed. There's no way the didn't shred all that shit so in essence, there's nothing left to release.

who says you have to put this job on your resume?

Am I (dumb peer)'s new manager? If so, we should probably discuss this roll and what it entails.

J.F.C. We have become that which we had previously found to be disgusting.

For halloween specifically. I carry it, I get to keep it. The candy will never leave their hands. As for the water bottles, chicken nuggest snad firies and other bullshit. Why did they bring that along?
If you don't wanna carry it, don't let them bring it.

He sees potential and is trying to help you develop it. If you're happy as an IC, find a way to let him know.
I'm on your side, however. This is why I switched to Non Profits about 20 years ago.

Here's the way it works. Let's say you work 10 miles from home. And the trip that is needed is 100 miles from work, you can drive directly there and back and get paid for 200 miles. It's the distance from your office that you get paid. If you're in your car, getting paid milage, you're also getting paid your hourly rate. You don't just get paid for when you show up at a site that's 2 hours away. The only thing you won't get mileage for is distance to your local office as that's a standard commute. So OP goes 200 miles (4 hours) round trip and spends 8 hours on site with a client, then that's going to be 12 hours of pay (4 OT) and $152 in milage. If you're salaried, you might get screwed on OT, but you should be able to negotiate time-in-lieu. to compensate the hours over 8 worked
If you're driving for them on company hours your vehicle should be insured by them as well. They should have paperwork for all this.

Go to the bar early, find the bartender and tell him if you order a whisky, you want ginger ale instead of anything with booze in it. Slip him a tenner as a tip and he'll take good care of you.

Step 1. STFU about resigning. The only time your boss should know you're even thinking about looking for a job is when you hand him your resignation.
Step 2. When you are ready to quit and you have offer in had, you just tell them you've found a better position and you're going to take it. Then you hand her a simple letter that says. "I hereby tender my resignation effective (LAST DAY YOU'RE WORKING)." and sign it.
Step 3. Wish her the best of luck and if she gives you shit or tells you to leave, then ask if you're getting paid for your 2 weeks or not. If not, go file for unemployment for the last 2 weeks. If it's a larger company, maybe double check with HR about getting paid to your notice date or not.
As far as delaying a start date. Most companies will be OK with that up to a point.
When you get an offer. and they ask you when you can start, you give them a date and say "Due to my notice at my current job and upcoming personal obligations, my earliest start date is (DATE YOU CAN START WORK).

I have two step kids and an adopted kid. Unless he's physically dangerous, I would say that she should talk to him. There is always that question at the back of her mind about him. If she get's emotionally crushed because he's everything you think of him is true and she can see it, then she'll get over it. This is one of those times where she needs to try something emotionally risky while having a total safe place to land.
Both of my step kids (same bio dad) saw him every other weekend for years, and now as adults, neither talk to him at all. In fact, just a few weeks ago I did an adult adoption of my step daughter. So they see how people really are.
If you need to actually be in the room when it happens that may be an acceptable concession to expect. Just so you can nip any attempts at manipulation in the bud right then and there.
It's a tough place to be.

Play the game, check policy to make sure she's not violating policy by making you ask to leave. Whatever you don't don't clock out until after miss "respect mah authoratah" says it's OK. It's just a job. You won't be there long.
Can you leave, totally. Should you leave if you want to stay employed? Probably not.
xftwitch
Don't start making payments until you take delivery of the car. The date of sale should be the day you get it, not the day you signed the paperwork.
xftwitch
Guilt needs to leave this equation. Most companies have PTO time and most companies should have no problem if you actually take it.
Tell the acting mananger what happened, (approved by accident prone boss ;-) and that you'll be out from date to date. It shouldn't matter.

2 months isn't a big enough gap to worry about having to explain it to anyone. Walk the fuck out and don't look back. Never use them as a reference because, why would you?
xftwitch
There's no easy way to do this. Your thoughts on making sure he doesn't hear it from anyone else first is a good instinct and I'd probably go with that. But you just have to tell him that you've got an opportunity in another division in London and you are looking at making that move. Ultimately, how he reacts isn't up to you. This is not a betrayal, it's not you sabotaging him or his department. It's you looking out for you. If he starts giving you a rash of crap about it, take it to HR, or maybe mention it to the VP that requested you tell your current boss about the opportunity.
Ideally, your new boss wouldn't take any disparaging information from your current manager to heart as you've already talked to him and the new manager already has access to your reviews and work history.
Good luck.

ThIs sounds more like someone thinks there is a problem with a C-level person and is looking for confirmation.
a bag of weed, a pile of snacks and a nice quiet room to yourself with a couple of books and a big TV. All set.
