To whoever comes after us:

Be curious, but not careless. Question what seems obvious, including your own conclusions. Build things that make life better, and leave places, knowledge, and relationships a little stronger than you found them. Remember that intelligence is not wisdom, information is not understanding, and certainty is often an illusion. When you encounter something you do not understand, resist the urge to dismiss it. Look closer. Listen. Learn. And when you are finally certain, remain humble enough to be wrong.

Congrats, that's !correct

Good deduction, you got it! It is Esus4.

Training in the morning shortly after getting up.

Thank you! In my experience ear training can be frustrating and feel like a chore. But once I started seeing the benefits I was so glad I stuck with it.

Thank you!

I've been using the D string of classical guitars as a low G on tenor ukulele and it works really well. Guess the top 4 strings should work just as well for baritone.

I like to learn from play along videos on YouTube. I try to learn by listening first and then check the tabs in the video. Channels I follow, that publish play alongs, include Ukulele Time, Matt Dahlberg, Helmut Bickel and Ukulele Corner.

Good tip. I may have done this on purpose for better visibility of which strings I'm pressing down. I don't remember tbh, it's been a while since I recorded this.

I guess my "just forget about this one" caption is too subtle. I wouldn't use this G shape to play an E chord at least not all 4 strings. I think the variation where you only play the top 3 strings can come in handy depending on context.

Thank you!

My pleasure

Thank you for the honest feedback! This is what I need in order to improve the app.

I recently added an ear training mode, maybe you haven't tried the latest version. I'll try to make the app easier to understand.

yaph

I like kapila's user interface and the fact that the app works with local models.

I'd love to have a text-to-speech feature, so that texts and summaries can be listened to. Any plans to add that?

Do you have feedback on the Chord Quiz app?

yaph

I've recalibrated and it works with 4th notes now. Not sure it was a calibration issue before or just my inaccurate playing. I think I first tried it without headphones and relied only on the visual countdown. Pretty cool and unforgiving feedback 😅

yaph

Awesome, thank you. I'll keep you updated.

yaph

Thank you for joining my test as well. I just sent you a message with my email.

I tried your app with wired headphones. I'll try recalibrating before doing the chord change drill again.

yaph

I joined and just tried your app the first time. It's useful and humbling to get feedback about my playing, especially the timing. It took me a bit to figure out that you're supposed to strum 8th notes on the chord change drill. I started with quarter notes and didn't understand why I missed so many strums. In any case, I'll use if for guitar practice for a while and am curious about its effect. If you still have a slot for the free sync capabilities, I'd be interested.

I'm also looking for testers for my Ukulele Chord Quiz app. I'll leave the info below, in case you are interested in checking it out. I'll keep trying your app either way.

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/ukulelechordquiz
  2. Opt in to the test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.ukealong.chordquiz
  3. Install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ukealong.chordquiz
