My campaign will take place in the space age of the cosmere.. with a caveat. So this is the premise i'm thinking about:
During the Scadrian vs Roshar war the Future ghostbloods have learned that during the true desolation there was a secret weapon for dealing with radiants. Unknown to the players this was made with the lost metal Raysium. Which has become rare since Odium became Retribution. In order to learn the secret the players will use an awakened device to traverse the spiritual realm. The device will form a vision of the past Roshar. A bit like the visions Dalinar had in Wind and Truth but far more stabalised.
The players will set out in the past of Roshar to quest for the secret while navigating the true desolation. They will need to advance as radiants / heroes to get into the inner circle of radiants. So there will be plenty of quests from inside the vision. And I'm also thinking that a future bondsmith could discover their tampering with the spiritual realm and send agents into the vision as well.

Actually, it seems the Cognitive realm won't grow when people begin to understand space. I think it's because there is no people living in space that can form cognitive concepts:

I'm actually playing a similar character in a DND campaign right now. Maybe you can get some valuable info out of my playstyle. (Which doesn't burden the DM too much I think)
My character is an undead skeleton druid. He came back to live with a new personality and sometimes get's taken over by the personality of his previous life. Which is very fun to roleplay. But maybe hard for a new player?
I have given myself a strict set of rules when to switch personalities. For instance, the current persona gets taken over by his previous life when he faces uncontrolled fire. As he died in a fire it became one of his triggers.
Both persona's are not being able to talk to each other in their mind. Just one is in control. Which makes things a lot easier to roleplay. Although they have begun writing in a diary to be able to converse with each other after a switch. I guess that's a bit less realistic for a split personality disorder though.
I also have only one character sheet, with one spell list. I personally choose to use some spells only with persona A or B.
This way it doesn't but a strain on my DM. I get to choose when to switch my roleplay. They don't need to do any voices. And they also don't need to homebrew for me. Although they did anyway :)

Jeez, I'm not too familiar with german but our languages are similar. (Dutch). Couldn't they have just gone with Morgenscherbe? I don't really see the Dammerungs part in dawnshard anyway lmao.

If you liked the powdermage trilogy you might like glass immortals as well. Same author, even better work imo. It's not finished though!

I don't think Stormlight part 2 will be far enough into the future for the two planets to crash. We have been teased with the cosmere a lot, but so far the only really connected stories have been told in the far future.
One of Brandons strenghts is that you can start at any of his series without having read the others. (and then get sucked into the beautifull void that is the cosmere). So yeah what I mean is that it would be weird that you can read part 1 without knowledge of other works and suddenly need to read a lot more books to read part 2.

Don't you think the Wold Guides will also behave like a monster manual?

I think perfect gemstones might be one. If all creatures with large gemhearts die out obtaining those might become very rare.

Isn't the black smoke Nightblood leaks investiture though? seems to me he releases what he consumes so idk if that makes him a black hole.
yolvenzind
Odium was beaten by an elder and his sword though.
yolvenzind
I think there is no Bondsmith for Odium because the surge of Adhesion is requiered.

I never thought I would find someone appreciating Justin Hawkes in this sub lol. Amazing song though, really feels like one of it's kind in the genre. And god yes it would be amazing for Wax & Wayne.
yolvenzind
I did love it. untill it ended at like 95%.
yolvenzind
Interesting theory! Do you think that's why Honor started going crazy near the end? Because he saw the recreance coming?
yolvenzind
Well, Taravangian and Dallinar got their boons years before the events of Stormlight 1. I think that if there is a plan, we will only see it when Lyfts is an adult in Stormlight 6+
yolvenzind
I think there might be more to it though. I agree she must be compelled by her shard. But I don't think we should underestimate vessel herself. We know so little about her and from what we know she is 1) an amazing planner and 2) one of the shards with the best future sight.
yolvenzind
Good point actually. Maybe she could just run around in the mists, bones exposed to catch some harmony-light then.
yolvenzind
Hmm I guess you are right in that it's just arbitrary. I don't think MeLaan would even have the ability to infuse her gem-bones.
Are you sure Polestones don't have an effect on their own though? When describing Heating fabrials it specifically uses a Ruby. Which has soulcasting property Fire.
And when describing Conjoiner vs Reverses it says an Amethyst was used instead of a Ruby. But otherwise created the same.
That's why I think polestones might not effect things on their own. But might direct the way HOW things are effected if that makes sense.
yolvenzind
Oh for reference. I have been going through these pages about gemstones:

Then we would have found remnants.
Interesting thought. I figured the messing from Harmony / Ruin was possible because a hemalurgic spike also pierces someones spirit web. Creating an opening. But for spren bonds it's mentioned that they are formed through cracks in the spirit web. So that could be the same entrance a shard could have leverage over?
