If this was the flat 50 miles shore to shore MS ride I would agree about being able to finish it. I did 42 miles where my two biggest climbs were the Gothals and Bayonne and the only reason I didn't make them longer was I needed to go home to my wife and kids. However. earlier this spring I did the Alpine boat basin climb and I was simply not able to do it. I probably could now, and I definitely could if I replaced my 12:25 8 speed cassette with the 11:32 I will use if I have to. Also when I did a 39 mile ride with actual hills (which I did not bonk on because my second water bottle was full of gatorade and I fueled before the ride) I was so dead at the end and afterward that I decided if I was forced to drive to a store that day I was going to use the courtesty scooter.

So anyway, being the Alpine Marina is at the end of the ride, and I'd prefer to not have to walk up that climb, I need to train harder a little more to not lose everything I gained this season come October 18th.

And yes I know I don't have to push myself this hard. I just have never had anything athletic in my entire life I've been this good at so I want to be able to do this. Then maybe next year I could do flat B group rides and C+ hill rides.

I've heard great things about the MS ride. I raised over a grand. My employer was acquired by a larger company and this is the first time I'm doing this kind of corporate charity work. I am a little sad that I don't drink anymore because I raised enough to earn a free beer.

The fact that this is a local situation and not a country situation is why I complain about it. And yes in the end I'd rather have the federal government nationalize zelle or something so I can avoid carrying around cash.

The reason the ultra rich don't pay taxes is not because of the homestead rebate or the earned income tax credit. It's because that income is funneled through corporations or paid for as stock options. Do you want to further complicate the tax code because of the guy making 400k a year salary boutique lawyer who is actually experiencing high marginal gain taxes?

Simplify the tax code. Raise the corporate income tax. Tax money in Delaware Shell corporations for companies effectively in NJ some how. Don't get mad because someone else got the same 1.5k you got.
