Loved the Marshal vs the Machines ref at the end!

If marshal can walk 500 miles then he can walk 5 more.

persona_dos

Future Ted said he'll soon regret, I guess it became a chore.

To-The-End

But not to fear! Ranjit will probably pick him up before Marshall's even sore.

Said the limo driver. "I'll see you to the door!"

MrF33n3y

Bus dude knows how to bust a rhyme.

Vitalstatistix

Bus dude is one of the most successful guys in theater these days. Lin Manuel Miranda is a ridiculously amazing genius.

stillusescrayons

I did not even realize it was him! He is the dude who did the Alexander Hamilton rap!

The fact that the commercials don't rhyme too threw me off completely.

[deleted]

Where's the Best Buy Christmas one? That would've fit so neatly.

N0IDED

Are we really doing this? This joke is just so cheesy.

azboy11

I don't know man, let's see if this'll work.

busche916

The next bro who stops this rhyming will be somewhat of a jerk

[deleted]

Who else thought Lily's flashback hair looked quite absurdly hot?

Seemingly_Sane

Ah yes, even though this is a filler episode, Lily never ceases to bring the "plot".

I'm loving the artwork before the stories.

[deleted]

I liked the barney one, a little boy in a man's suit, rather fitting.

Rosetti

Or rather not fitting.

I hope "Mosby at the Bat" is one of Lily and The Mother's children books

EDIT: Okay maybe not the blue balls part.

[deleted]

Well at this point that would be the most innocent thing his kids would know about him.

ShibuyaStation

Hahahaha nice.

Of course Barney would say he's Derek Jeter.

tenderkittylicks

I'm pretty sure he has done that before, can't think of the exact episode though. Could be another throwback. That's how I saw it coming.

Valistia

He definitely claimed to be a Yankee previously, but I can't remember if he said a specific player.

tenderkittylicks

Just looked it up - Season 4 Ep 1. Robin tells a waitress that Barney is the Yankees' second baseman. I feel like it happened another time though...could be wrong.

Edit: It's also mentioned in "The Bracket" that he once pretended to be Jorge Posada.

A move like that.. might get him into the Evil League of Evil :o

I couldn't get past the first 2 minutes....another filler episode and the whole rhyming thing annoyed me, but looking at the posts here I feel like I'm alone. I maniacally started fast-forwarding through it in the hopes of finding that the whole episode wouldn't be narrated wholly in rhymes with meaningless stories. Oh well

ShibuyaStation

This scene reminds me of Matilda where the fat kid ate the whole chocolate cake infront of the auditorium.

Xacry

Bruce, Bruce, Bruce!

luck_dragon

You must eat the entire confection!

captars

Is that Lin-Manuel Miranda? That would explain the rhyming.

TheActivistClown

I thought I recognized but I didn't know from where; eventually I realized I had seen that sweet rhyming on House M.D.

kudrew12

Sure is!

captars

Usnavi for the win!

Classic_Wingers

This was a bold episode. I'm not sure it paid off in my opinion but it was different. I'm a huge Community fan and enjoy when the show tries to take a new direction so I figured this would be a good twist on the normal formula. It kinda got old quickly though for me. Not sure about you guys. I did like that Marshall was able to continue the rhyme going but this was really an episode I would never have expected in a final season.

MrF33n3y

Heh, nursery song version of the theme. Nice touch.

s0aar

and the story intros were "night night lil marvin"

YES! THE RETURN OF FOLK SONG RUNNING MARSHALL!

MARSHALL VS. TECHNOLOGY PART TWO.

wildcard58

I sense some people want to grade this episode F-minus

But do you really want another week of "Thank you, Linus"?

TheFaradayConstant

Progress in the least would be cool I guess though. I wanted this season to emotionally resonate with the mother but this Marshall roadtrip thing has absolutely ruined the season for me so far.

wildcard58

Agreed... I was hoping that he'd get there tonight but it seems like they are intent on continuing to beat that dead horse.

[deleted]

[deleted]

[deleted]

I've never heard of him being "done" with the show, only that his career is extremely busy now.

wildcard58

True, at this point I think this season might have been better off as a half-season instead of a full one. "Filler" can be done well or it can get annoying, and I think I've crossed that point with the Marshall not getting to the wedding stuff. For example, the stuff with Marshall's face on the iPad worked pretty well (and met the criteria for the actor). (Also, he's already missed the rehearsal dinner, so there's nothing left for him to miss since we know he is at the actual wedding.)

IkLms

They did know that before the beginning of last season though didn't they? They should have just wrapped it up then.

buhnyfoofoo

Why wouldn't he just call someone at the Farhampton to come pick him up instead of walking with Marvin and his luggage? Oh wait, I know.... because the writers need more material to draw out this stupid plotline.

ktlaguardia

Cause Marshall will never lose to the machines.

SadMisterFrownyFace

I would walk 5 miles, and I...

azboy11

.. would walk 5 miles more.

Seems like a super polarizing episode 10 minutes in. Everyone is gagging or gushing

RtimesThree

Damn, Robin still looks awesome in sweats and a ponytail with pastry cream all over her shirt.

[deleted]

Marshall narrating a filler episode almost makes up for the fact that he isn't there yet. Almost.

[deleted]

But hopefully he will be there by next episode, even if it's not until the end of the episode.

Mixed feelings about the episode rhyming, but that woman is beautiful.

Barney with The Derek Jeter.

ninja_plop

Pickle Jar Bob. Beautiful.

azizinator25

Hah what a nice Don Corleone reference

Semper-Fido

This episode could be interesting. I remember another gimmick episode with a countdown. We remember how that ended. Love the rhymes regardless!!!

ramesali786

This has the potential to get reaaaally annoying...

wveniez

Honestly, this episode didn't really make me laugh once. Disappointing.

whyd_you_kill_doakes

After watching this episode, I tried to think of something witty.

But all that could think of: that episode was really shitty.

[deleted]

The Date Line. And How I Met Your Mother creates yet another brilliant thing.

wouldeye

Could have used this brilliance in my most recent fling...

Hah, I like what they did with the intro, how interesting

tenderkittylicks

I don't know if I'll make it all the way through this...

ilaughlikemandark

You know what,Marshall? You can end any rhyme with 'meow'. Ask Colin Mochrie.

venn177

I've been very on and off about this season, but I absolutely hated this episode. Not only was it completely filler, but it was pretty goddamn annoying to have the rhyming gimmick all episode.

ShibuyaStation

Staten Island Lou...Tuxedo Charlie....Pickle Jar Bob....Bronx Donnie....Captain Bill....

omg this is great.

WendyMouse

The bus guy complained about the story then asked about a joint.

I though they called them sandwiches, wasn't that the point?
