Bridge75 gang review

Hello! I'll share my personal experience with these three beauties: the black standard version of the Bridge75, and the 2x Plus models (silver and milk coffee).

For starters, I ordered them all on AliExpress: the black one for $100, the silver for $110, and the milky for $115, all with promo codes. I waited about two weeks for them to arrive in Poland.

The unboxing experience is nice. We get a basic black cable, a branded switch/keycap puller, a few spare switches, and a dongle. I like the acrylic dust cover, but unfortunately, we don't get a proper safety film—just a plastic one that rips off easily and is unusable afterward.

Now, about the boards themselves—I highly recommend paying a bit extra for the Plus version. The deeper, thockier, and creamier sound is much more apparent in the Plus variant, probably due to the additional foam and the FR4 plate. The standard version also sounds good, but it's thinner and a bit higher-pitched. The double battery capacity is another reason to opt for the Plus version.

Build Quality: Look closely at the pictures so you understand what I mean. The coating is not consistent across the colors. The black unit has the smoothest texture—it catches fingerprints and smudges very easily, but the texture itself is the best. The silver one is just a bit rougher, though not significantly, and the milk coffee version is a bit disappointing. It seems to be spray-coated, and what's worse, it has glittery particles. I love its pastel color and overall vibe, but I really wish they would improve the coating quality of this color in the future.

Of course, it's a personal choice, but I think the silver one looks the best overall, as the brushed steel backplate matches the color of the board.

Another thing—the sound coming from the Plus variants is not consistent among these units. The milky coffee version has a deeper, more thocky sound on the spacebar, whereas in the silver unit, it's louder and higher. The same applies to the other stabilized keys, which is quite odd. Speaking of stabilizers—they could be better. Both of the Plus variants have a slight "pingy" noise coming from the backspace. Overall, they are smooth and work well, but that tiny pingy sound shouldn't be there.

Switches: Mmm Princess linear switches are actually the switches I used to build my first custom keyboard, so it was a nostalgic experience. I still consider them among the best budget switches; they are very smooth and have a nice, deep thocky sound. As good as they are, I wish there were more switch options or a more premium choice, like in the Rainy75, where you get HMX switches. Comparing the two briefly

Some personal thoughts: The ball-catch system works great, and I really appreciate it. The wired/wireless switch is hidden under the top plate, and I thought that was fine because now I don't need a keycap puller to switch modes like in other keyboards, where the switch is often located under the Caps Lock key, right? Well, not quite! The switch is so tiny and low that you still need some sort of tool to flip it. However, what I discovered is that you actually don't need to switch it at all. You can just leave it in wireless mode, and whenever you want to connect the cable, simply use the FN + ~ combination to switch to wired mode. What a relief! I also forgot to mention that it supports VIA, so changing key mappings was easy—just had to download the JSON file.

Overall, it's a fantastic keyboard, and I definitely recommend it. Despite the slight glittering, I love the pastel look and creamy keycaps so much that I'm keeping it!

Wow, that's a damn strategic stockpile of Bridges!

And yeah, you're right about the coating being different - they clearly state that in the specs (along with the glitter).

Woah thanks. I didn't even notice it!

Thanks for this graph, it’s helping me make the right purchase

I hate the power button.

Fettes Manko einer sonst sehr guten Tastatur! Lässt sich nur mit Mühe und etwas Spitzem wie einer Gabel betätigen.

reddie_odin

I also heard from a number of reviews that the standard version does sounds hollow. Looks like I will be getting the plus version.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Looks like the part where I wanted to compare bridge to rainy was cut. So here it is. The rainy75 has deeper and fuller sound than bridge. I may by biased or love rainy to much, but after trying numerous keyboards I still haven't found another that could sound so deep. Furycube f75 is quite close tho.

raidlittlehead

I've been looking at the bridge & rain for a little bit, but am also looking to have something fairly quiet.

Any thoughts on which would be better between the 75's you've used?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

I'm completely rainy fan, but bridge takes 2nd place. If you want something more quiet then definitely take the Bridge. Rainy is super loud.

raidlittlehead

Thanks, I appreciate it!

[deleted]

How is the rainy thockier and deeper? The bridge is deeper.

Wish all of these popular 75% had knobs 😩

I know :)
Many do tho

I have a HE varient waiting to be unboxed...thanks for the review of the other ones....I really must open the HE but many other things have got in the way for now😂

I'm also considering the HE for gaming!

For those that are interested, the Bridge 75 pre-order is open on Drop with a $5-10 discount depending on the model and the ability to be combined with DKC Rewards codes.

I got the white rgb version, loving it so far. Only thing a dont like is the rgb turning off after like 1/2mins when wired. Plate stabs were so much better than i was expecting tbh. So far it feels and sounds better than the gmmk pro it replaced.

mk18mod1

Is this a bug? Is there is no way to always keep the RGB on?

Ayeok

So far i havent found a way to keep it on at all times, just seems to be the way the firmware is setup sadly.

Edit: They have new firmware (v1_19) out that allows you to stop it turning off after 3mins while a USB cable is plugged in :)

mk18mod1

Thanks for the reply. That is really unfortunate!

Ayeok

Their still putting out firmware so they might change it but as of now it turns off after 3mins of not being in use ( comes back on when key is pressed tho), its most likely an oversight for saving the bat when wireless.

SnooEagles4902

There's a fix for this with new firmware: https://shortcutofficial.com/pages/download

I just patched this on my bridge75. You'll need to download QMK and upload the firmware bin file. To enter bootloader mode unplug your keyboard and hold Fn + esc while you plug it back in. This will kick it into bootloader, and will let you flash the new firmware to the board. In this version there's a macro to turn on/off RGB sleep (Fn + \)

QuentinCly

These looks really good! Thanks for your detailed review

yeungjedi

They're on sale for GB at Drop currently for about the same prices. It gets way cheaper with DKC coupons. Not sure if I'm allowed to link Drop, but it needs 81 more purchasers

poolio_coolio

I was looking at the drop gb - what are DKC coupons?

yeungjedi

It's basically a membership. You can pay a high price for membership as it is now, but there are some events during the year in which they sell membership for a year for $1. You can get 30% up to 100% off coupons up to $100

akwangkham

I just received my plus keyboard the other day, I love it! It's my first ever custom keyboard.

RKaider

Is the PCB capable of split backspace? I usually prefer my backspace to be where backslash is.

Ayeok

I have the plus version and sadly no. You can only move the caps lock so its stepped

Complex_Art_6595

Oh so pretty

ciinnabun

I got the standard version and although i love it i definitely feel like it needs some more foam

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Yeah it has the potential to sound better. You can always add some yourself

ch0c0l2te

Just got mine in the other day! About the wireless mode switch; if I leave the board plugged in and in wired mode using Fn+~ will it not use up the battery since the switch itself is still in the on position?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Don't think so. It goes into sleep mode if it doesn't detect any device.

Throwaway_I_S

Ah man I have the cream version coming soon. A shame to hear about the coating, as this was my first “fun color” board.

Any chance you could post a sound comparison of the Bridge and Rainy?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Sure thing man! I'll drop it below. Don't worry about the coating too much. The color is still stunning. Just don't put too much attention to the details 👌 Edit: whops looks like we can't post videos in here :/

poolio_coolio

Would love to hear the sound comparison - is there another way to access the video?

[deleted]

In terms of sound, is it better than the rainy75?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Nope it's not. It's just my opinion, however most reviewers share it, the rainy is still GOAT in this price range.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Hey. Yeah I guess it does but actually there is no any charging indicator. FN + D command shows battery status on the ESC key, when charging, after pressing the combination, the ESC flashes in white color. It's a shame Bridge doesn't show battery capacity by lightning 1-0 keys like many other do.

MisterUltimate

Hey! I just got this board a couple of days ago and using it wired (I have the battery toggle on off) but the escape key is continually flashing white and I can't get it to stop. Has something like this happened to you? I've tried every button combination possible and I don't think it's charging because this thing has been plugged in for days but the esc key won't stop flashing. I also have the RGB turned off.

valhallar-visir

What do the colors mean? When I click FN+D the first time it's green, then on the second it's green again, and from the third onwards it turns blue. I have no idea what that means.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Um is it not battery indicator?

valhallar-visir

I understand it's an indicator, I was asking what the blue color refers to in terms of approximate percentage. But then I found out it only happens if I click D too fast. If I don't, I realiably get the green indicating my battery is almost full.

ill_never_GET_REAL

Lol, it's frustrating that they don't include enough documentation in the box. I've just managed to find this on their Notion:

During charging, press Fn+D makes the ESC key backlight display the current charging status: rapid flashing for charging, green for 100%. Without charging, press Fn+D makes the ESC key backlight display the current battery level: red for 0%-9%, yellow for 10%-49%, blue for 50%-79%, and green for 80%-100%.

It also tells you what all the RGB buttons actually do, which is helpful!

Kaelsanguis

I have the plus myself (post history). I absolutely loved it. My best keyboard atn.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

To add some more thoughts after using it a bit more time. The 2.4ghz connection indicator keeps flashing if the keyboard is not used for like a minute. It’s actually super frustrating as there is no combination to turn off indicator lights. It stops flashing after a while but then it does it again :/

[deleted]

I've just updated the dongle firmware with the revision recently rolled out by Shortcut Studio. Did that about an hour ago. Not a single flash since.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Must do that too then! Thanks for update.

[deleted]

Update roughly 2 days later: yep, no silly blinking anymore. When connected via 2.4GHz, key 4 lights up only when the PC goes to sleep indicating loss of connection to the dongle.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Man I struggle to update it. Do I need to do it with qmk somehow? Never used it before. When I just download this wireless_V3 file and I try to start it, it shows "This device does not support firmware download" and "Firmware upgrade unsuccessful" :(

[deleted]

I'm not sure why this is happening, sorry. I just downloaded it from their official page, ran it as an administrator, started the update, and, once it was done, closed the notification and the app itself.

However, I got another update a couple of days later. It still blinks under the 4 key—much less often now, probably only when the PC goes into some USB power-saving mode due to no input (like when I’m doing some long, tiny-font reading and don’t even scroll with the mouse wheel for several minutes)—but it still happens. And this is slowly becoming my biggest complaint about the keyboard overall. I mean, on one hand, it’s not a big deal, but on the other, I’d really like it to stop this stupid light show.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Mine 2. I found non-perfect solution that works in my case. Fn+4 several times to pair again, and reinsert the dongle several times. After doing that I get completely no blinking under 4 key. However it works as long as the PC is on. After rebooting PC the issue comes back and I can do this "ritual" again xD

goddysai1213

Hi, i’m interested in getting one of it. Can i check how long the battery lasts for the bridge75 and bridge75 Plus using 2.4Ghz connection?

Po_on

hello, did you figure out how long the battery last?

snarfarlarkus

Can you please compare the sound of this board to the Rainy75? Do you prefer the sound of one or the other? Cheers

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Rainy75 is different league in terms of sound. All the board Ive had, rainy is still goat. The sound is deeper, fuller and louder than anything. Especially the standard version. Bridge is not close.

snarfarlarkus

I figured... Looks like I need to sell my bridge for a rainy haha

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

You can always keep both :D

Worth-Till6216

bridge75 plus or lemokey p1 pro better bro?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Dunno bro. Never had lemokey. However rainy75 still rocks for me 👍

Worth-Till6216

why is that bro? so rainy75 is better than bridge?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

In terms of sound, quality, weight and overall feeling - hell yeah. I'm completely rainy biased

JQuonDo

When you say deep, do you mean more marbly creamy pleasing sound or just a better thock

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Definitely not marbly as i'd use this term for ceramic keycaps sounds. When I say deep I mean that no matter thock, clack or creamy, the richness of the sound is significant. You just hear more, distinguish better

Band_Opposite

Does the Plus version have support for screw in stabs?

Etheriol

Yes, it does

_imadeitup

Been reading the comments and it seems you place the rainy above the bridge 75 plus. In terms of build quality and finish would you say the standard rainy 75 is higher than the bridge 75 plus? Also do you happen to have the RD75 pro as well and any thoughts on that comparison if you do? I was really dead set on getting the bridge 75 plus, but now im rethinking it. Thank you if you respond :)

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Yeah for me rainy75 is better quality than bridge75. No matter the plus or pro variants as their quality stays the same. You can read my review about wave75 - there I compare it to rainy75. From these 3 boards my new favourite is wave75. It has the features of bridge75 and the quality of rainy75. With the addition of dongle storage and such generous packaging it wins for me.

Hi! What's the difference between the MMD Princess switches and the Princess Ultra switches?

Ok-Analysis-8115

Hi,

I am just new to the mech keyboard topic and it suddenly got me. Since I noticed what I missed until then ( 3 weeks ago) I am buying lots of stuff haha. My wife is starting to complain about my "strange" activities.....

After buying the Keychron V6 Max (100% happy with it after modding), the Wobkey Crush 80 Beta (not yet arrived), as a third keyboard i ordered now the Bridge 75 Pro which I just received this morning.

My keyboard was ISO-DE from german distributor who equipped it with full set of white ISO-DE layout keycaps but only white colour was bit to boring for me.

So first I replaced the switches for Gateron milky yellow´s, then I partially replaced the white keycaps with a mix of dark and light blue ones from another set I ordered from Keychron before.

I also did a double textile tape mod on the PCB.

Then I used a bit of Bitumen/alu tape to dampen the space bar and the return key.

it is really heavy. Plus 8.000 mAh battery capacity.

The unmodded original keyboard was a bit too loud/bright/clacky for my personal taste.

After modding i am very happy that I bought it, the only remaining complain for me is that

  1. there is no integrated slot for the USB dongle. p.s.: what happens in case I loose it? Can be used any alternative one or I need to contact non-existing support?
  2. I think better stabilizer in space bar is required

I like it. Sounds and feels so nice, very satisfying. Not bright or ping at all,...and for me very important: on the quiet side.

What a nice toy :-)

Thorsten

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Never heard of mmd ultra switches. U sure such exist? Maybe some Chinese guys mixed up translation in their auction.

iiQuinkSpace

No, it just says princess ultra switches / SC Switches on lumekeebs, one of their merchants. mechanicalkeyboards site has all 3 of those switches listed too (MMD Princess, Princess Ultra, SC Switch)

Thoney77

I just purchased the Bridge75 plus with the Princess linear switches and love the feel and thockiness, but they are REALLY LOUD. Too loud to use in my office or on a Zoom call. What are some alternative switches with a similar feel that are quieter?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Gateron milky yellow pro are much more quiet and still have amazing sound. Other than that you can try some silent switches

TheeDemiGodRequis

How is the RGB on the plus version? Would you say it's bright or more on the dimmer side?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

It's quite bright. Never had via keyboard that wouldn't be bright.

BromarWolf

Bridge75 for $94 or the rainy75 for $125.10? At that price is rainy still king?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

That's quite noticeable price gap. Is is the rainy pro at least?

BromarWolf

Yes sorry this is for the bridge plus (pre order) and the rainy pro in stock.

Valuable_Science_898

Is there a way u can check the battery status for normal version, Im a little clueless in that part

DL23395

I just got the standard black and the spacebar is really rattly. Any idea how to fix this without taking apart the whole keyboard?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Tape mode

DeedleGuy

which version? the 2 upper models support screw in stabilizers, maybe that will help?

Reasonable-Hawk-4180
Mnemikkk

Am I doing something wrong or why does my keyboard not work when I don't use the PC for a week? Battery level is ok - seems like it wont connect to the dongle. When I toggle the powerswitch it works again which is a pain cause of the size and the danger to break that tiny switch sometime...

Ami_Lyn

Hi! Thanks for this post, it is really useful! Do you think that the cream one, being spray coated, will lose color/become scratchy during time. Thanks :)

Tricky-Archer127

Are the name brand keyboards on AliExpress Legit? I was always afraid to get it from there.

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Sure, just look for sellers with a lot of reviews and not many negative ones.

Usual-Blackberry5606

Yo, is there any way possible of you sharing the link to the product?

New_Confusion8364 [OP]

Nah man they are from aliexpress
