Good furniture consignment?
The place to sell used furniture was the consignment gallery, but they are now permanently closed. Does anyone have other good recommendations for where to sell good furniture? Calgary furniture exchange and prestige consignment furniture also seem to be closed down.

Used furniture is worth pennies on the dollar even if it’s antique and solid wood. If it’s vintage or mid-century modern, there’s a few dealers in Calgary.

This is quite correct. And if you find a dealer who will transact, you are a price-taker not a price-setter.
I inherited a house full of furnishings dating from the mid 60s through mid 70s. The majority of these pieces were considered "high-end" or "fine furniture", based on materials and construction methods, never mind style.
A few designers looked at the pieces and each gave a sheepish "this is going to be hard because they are of excellent construction and design but buyers won't value them". I had to pay to have half of the collection taken away because the real market value is about that of kindling wood.
I have a full Century Furniture dining set from an era where the designs were considered "sublime". The today-equivalent set would price into the mid five-figures. The hexagonal table top will be ultimately turned into a card table. The wicker-back chairs would only be interesting to a small group of select buyers. The credenza now holds up a music mixing console and speakers. The two essentially-unused inserts from the dining table will likely have custom electric guitar bodies made from them because the finish is very unique.
The teak I kept. The living room end tables and coffee table I had refinished and they became the mainstays of my basement. They now look better than new. A love seat I will pay a king's ransom to eventually reupholster, if only because the 53-year-old frame is still better than that in most new furniture. I will retrofit a large console stereo with modern speakers and electronics.
The up-cycled-to-self situation only works because the aesthetics and sizes fit into my home; it isn't going to work in the majority of modern homes. The pieces they replaced I essentially had to fire-sale in order to get them out of the house in a timely manner.
Good luck to the original poster. What worked for me may not work for many readers. Everyone else's mileage may vary.
