Klein tools aren’t great. There’s better options for the price
I used to buy em for the easy no questions asked warranty but that’s impossible to do these days
They warrantied those? That’s pretty cool. My Lowes would say go play in traffic.

My local Home Depot used to warranty all my Klein hand tools as long as they still had the identical replacements but they stopped doing it.

Yeah mine did as well. I literally had to fight with the guy over a clearly broken tool that was definitely a warranty. He kept saying contact Klein. I said no I bought it here! Finally he said go get the exact same tool. If we don’t have the exact same tool I can’t do it.
Then when I got back he had the manager waiting. The manager said this is not our problem. We are going to do it this time but never again.
I was like wtf.

Haha that’s pretty much what happened to me the last time I tried to do it. Home Depot changed their policy when Lowe’s got the Klein contract to sell their hand tools.

I know they are stingy now. Before it was like Yeah just go get one. Now it’s like from my cold dead hands you’ll get a warranty lol.

I’m surprised as well. To my knowledge, Lowe’s will only warranty their house brands (Kobalt, etc) and Craftsman. (Only because it’s part of the warranty policy Craftsman has had for years that retailers must warranty tools in-store)
I was also told that Home Depot does not warranty any tools in-store anymore except for store brands like Husky. Last time I went to warranty a RYOBI battery, they told me all warranties are handled through the manufacturer now.
This is where a good independent mom and pop hardware store shines. I have one local with a huge selection of quality tools. They handle lifetime warranty claims on the tools they sell. Usually walk in and trade your item for a new one instantly if they sell the equivalent.

Yeah Lowe’s and HD really changed on their warranty. I was really surprised to see OP got those warrantied.
Yeah I can see why a Mom and Pop store would be in that case. There’s a mom and pop hardware store by me and I know they warranty everything. They are an authorized dealer for Milwaukee, Klein, Dewalt, and a few others. I’ll have to give them my business.
