I don’t know if you’re familiar with the card [[chaos orb]].
Well back in the day, people tried to find best way to optimize it. from flipping from very high height, to rip it in pieces and let every single pic touch more cards in the battlefield.
Yeah, magic was chaotic and funny as hell
Fact: I never managed to get one of these codes.
Fun fact: Purple was going to be Magic’s sixth color, located between black and blue in the color wheel, and its basic land type was going to be cave. During R&D for Planar Chaos in 2007 they discussed bringing it back but decided against it, instead favoring a color that would be at the center of the wheel and had no ally or enemy colors, which is how we got eventually got colorless mana.
I hate that there is no clan or guild name for mono decks.
I used to for some reason want to make mono brawl or commander decks for each of the Syr's of Eldraine. So I kinda used those as mono names. Ardenvale, Vantress, Locthwain, Embereth & Garenbrig.
When people used to visit Wizards HQ back in the early days, they were given a starter deck and two boosters just for showing up. This timeline sucks now
Congrats. Sent a pm of the code!
Amazing... and I am in the middle of a draft as we speak too! Thank you so much friend :D
Whelp, drafted 3-3 in the lorwyn emblem draft. Not a bad evening over in my corner!
It’s not really a fact or trivia, but I like the potential flavor (not sure if this is correct) of the -1/-1 counters on lorwyn being remnants of the phyrexian invasion
Fact: I'm new to mtga and still daily grinding gold for my first 0 rare lessons deck
There's some cool rulings trivia I remember reading about in the main sub a few years ago.
Since [[chromatic sphere]] has a mana ability that lets you draw a card, the effect of drawing the card is not put on the stack, and you can only look at the card you drew after paying for a spell or ability you used the mana ability for.
So of course this messes with [[panglacial wurm]], so you can look at the top card of your library when searching and draw it faster than instant speed while searching
Fun fact: there are more than 4000 human cards, making them the most frequent and suppirted creature type
If you include 4x [[Winter Orb]] in your deck, be prepared lose friends
[[Glarb, Calmity's Augur]] is the wizard king that gently rules the city of Fountainport from his throne atop its many tiers. He wasn't always the schemer he is now but was once a mentor to those who would study augury. He ran a great school for those who wanted to herald the seasons and guide the future of Valley toward prosperity. Glarb became famous for not only his knowledge, but also his consideration for the cycles and seasons that gave Valley life.

I find the story of how panoptic mirror got banned in EDH very funny. Sheldon and Gis(members of the RC) played 1vs1 EDH with 100 life totals. After these games, they decided the card ought to go.
The fact that they played a game with completely different rules to how 99% of EDH games are played and THAT is what prompted the ban is so insanely funny to me. You can use this anecdote when someone tries to say any card in the commander balist was there for any real reason other than "the rc felt like it".
The card Black Lotus is so powerful that it has been banned or restricted in almost every competitive format — and a pristine Alpha copy once sold for over $500,000 at auction.
Pauper is the most balanced MTG format right now, it's considered the golden age
Magic was almost called mana clash!
Fact: the first banned card was Chaos Orb, because you literally had to: Drop it from at least one foot above the table and destroy any cards it physically touched.
I love dragons. Hoping to pull more.
Sol Ring is the most reprinted card in MTG outside of the basic lands at over 100 reprints and counting.
MTG TMNT, apparently cause of Japan policy of the weapon Sai, Ralphs weapons are altered in the artwork. So that’s why there’s only only one of the side blades cause the Sai in Japan it is only represented for the dead/funerals
In MTG, the card Nevinyrral's Disk references Larry Niven, spelled backward. Larry Niven wrote a fantasy novel called The Magic Goes Away, which later became the inspiration for MTG’s mana system.
You can play Rock, Paper, Scissors in a MTG game with the cards [[Rock Lobster]], [[Paper Tiger]] and [[Scissors Lizard]] from the Unglued set (that whole set is pretty fun).
Flying is the most common keyword!
NightlightsCA is the winner ❤️
Despite owning both franchises since 1997, it took WotC until 2018 to do their first cross over with DnD 5th editions setting book Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica.
