I mean, considering the people South Korea has had in charge lately, I think alien-worshippers eager to ally with the north would still be less weird than some of them.

There was a dev post here a while ago that talked about including some kind of total national isolation policy in the future that would simulate North Korea better. That'd probably prevent stuff like this.

North and South Korea are in the news

Booo

They are making peace

Yay

They are allied together to submit to the alien overlords

Like, a lot of the diplomatic moves seem timescale rushed, and that's fine. It's kind of the nature of strategy games. This one seems... uh, a bit immersion breaking.

Not really, when you consider the whole 'Secret Society grabbing control of both governments' angle.

Though I bet from the outside looking in, the average joe watching this on the news is going 'W.T.F?!'

I'm not sure the average joe would even notice the trailing mention of two countries in Asia unifying,

whilst a is Kaiju rampaging about and the US declaring war on everyone, and a Nuclear Winter happening in the midst of an alien invasion.

Well those things would happen only years later, considerimg it's 2023
