I miss brick and mortar stores. Nothing beat going into a bookstore and flipping through an interesting book before buying it. Nowadays it's all been replaced by designer clothing stores. What a damn shame.
We have Half Price Books where I live. It's a great place to get used books. I usually check with them first before I buy from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Buying books in person really IS very satisfying!
Dear Diary:
Mood: Apathetic...
My life is spiraling downward
Time for some Reddit virtue signaling.
I only buy a monthly once a year for xmas gifts. I will pay anything not to shop during the holidays for presents. Then I cancel...gladly.
Byeeeee
Same here and Amazon is reimbursing me $11.49 for the cancellation. I’m that much richer!
Think of all the future money you aren’t giving them.
Same, I cancelled mine in November.
Why are you still here then?
I was never part of the AmazonPrime subreddit. Just happened to pop up as I was scrolling.
Huge loss for Amazon
I left them a while ago, then they said: hey want 6 months free prime student?
6 months later I get prime half off.
Note, im not 19-24 or a student.
Same, except I left them for years and out of school for more than a decade
Amazon must be really desperate to hand out student prime membership to customers who are clearly non-student lol
I'm not gonna tell them :)
You are laterally scamming them and then you blame them for it? Isn't that convenient?
I'm so sorry people are having issues, I wonder how regional it is. I had them from the start, different people had prime in family depending on college status or other perks. 90% of the time it's been fine. Couple of lost packages over the years, I don't return much but no issues with that. I've gotten some open bottles of cosmetics they told me to throw out and refunded. Overall though a lifesaver during Covid and now for things I have trouble finding in stores.
Ok
There should be Amazon competitor. Any platform you’ve considered as you exit?
first year im not renewing in many years. for the last 6 months i keep getting charged every couple of weeks for a return i made. im tired of fighting with customer support.
Exact same thing has been happening to me the last couple of months. I call and they say they did indeed receive my return and I won't be charged, then I'm charged anyway. Then I call back and go thru the whole thing again. They say the charges will be reversed but they never are.
This has never happened to me once in all the years I've been a prime member and now it's happened about 6 times in the past 5 months
My brother sold a lot on Amazon, but they continully screwed him, until he had to quit to avoid more losses. No Amazon for me.
Yeah, just keep giving money to people you hate because nothing matters, dude. You should definitely listen to what the incels of Reddit think about you.
Amazon is going to thrive regardless lmao
They have gotten the corporate/ business accounts, which pays more and the money are flowing in every months or prepaid every year. They don't care any more for individuals accounts.
Mistakes are bound to happen. I order and return stuff all the time and never have issues.
Yep but people will always have something to complain about 😂
Of course lol
AMAZON. IS A JOKE. shome how they managed to charge my card from google pay for Prime after years of them trying/ not using Amazon. So I decided to order some things since they charged me...
Something came broken, and I have to go out my way to return it!!?
Then 2 of my items are missing, and I have to wait for them to process an incident report?
Why would I pay for them to stress me out & put me through hoops while they take my money?
Then can never take your money without you authorising it. If they did why are you not taking legally?
Because its $15 🤣 the time and energy it would take to sue them is not worth my time
Why are you still here then?
This is really childish and silly to post
Oh no! anyway..
Look at all the non-constructive replies and comments from lonely fat ass’s brainwashed by their phones. Helpless losers actually subscribe to shop online.
Me as well
🙌🙌🙌
The two day shipping never happens anymore. I specifically choose prime listings for that and most every time they take a week. That’s false advertising.
That covers pretty much every company to exist, as they support your money, not you ...so good luck.
Extremely evil amazon. Amazon sells your personal information and always recommends you to buy expensive products. Stop amazon and request return for all your products. Shit product from evil and toxic amazon.
Im chillin. Got prime and the visa, prime is essentially free, saves me money on most purchases. Prime video is chill, same with kindle stuff.
You'll be back.....
Prime is not worth it anymore
Am also cancelling next month, no point in paying for next day shipping when amazon never actually delivers. Plus them closing warehouse over here was my last straw tbh.
Customer Service is awful. They will lie to you even when you have proof of what you were told in a previous chat. I was told to reorder a package that hadn't been delivered and they would adjust the price. Then when I did they refused to adjust the price.
Just curious do you vet every product/company you purchase goods or services from? If you don’t you are a hypocrite. If you do, damn you got some time on your hands.
The best thing about all this is they always yap how cheaper the things are on other websites but never buys from them
What is happening to all of these services? I am canceling Walmart plus as well because half of the things that I would pick up or have delivered now say buy in store and don't give you the option to have it delivered or picked up. This is especially true for refrigerated and Frozen items. That was kind of the whole point of having the membership so it's time for me to say bye-bye to a service that has lost any usefulness.
Good job! Everyone should cancel prime!

This entire subreddit has turned into an anti Amazon sub lately.

Try costco. Cheaper membership and they also have 2 day shipping. Products are much better quality

I’m all about Walmart+ these days. I know it’s just another evil company but I’ve not had any problems with them like I do with Amazon. I recently found out that the Amazon subscription I had set up for some fancy coffee beans (shipped direct from the roaster immediately after roasting) is actually cheaper on Walmart shipping from the same company.
Amazon shipped my son a hard drive that he ordered over Christmas. The Amazon shipping box was perfect but the drive box was beaten up and held together with elastic bands. We sent it back and the replacement wasn’t even out in a shipping box.

Walmart+ is headed for the same doom as Amazon. Right now, they’re okay only because they are trying to compete with Amazon. The more people jump ship to Walmart+, the more overwhelmed they will become, leading to the same exact issues in the near future.
As a 3rd party, we absolutely cannot stand selling on Walmart because they’re constantly siding with the customer when they are always wrong, or scamming us in some way. Their desire to beat Amazon is just gonna lead to their own demise.

customer entitlement and scamming behavior is a problem on all platforms. it's a game for some buyers -- they brag about the refunded stuff they got to keep on social media.
at least Walmart doesn't co-mingle your inventory with that of other sellers offering the same item but counterfeit or used.
With FBA, you can send them perfect brand new items but a customer who clicks on your listing gets sent whatever item us closest to the Amazon warehouse worker's hand so long as it has the same UPC code as yours, and you get the blame for shoddy goods.

Don't sell on Walmart if you can't stand it. If you do continue to sell then it must be worth the hassle to you.
Yes it will probably go the same way as Amazon but everything suffers enshittification eventually. Once a platform struggles to attract more customers they look for other ways to increase profits. That involves reducing costs which makes the service worse. It literally happens to everything. Any online marketplace will eventually go down the same road.
From a customer perspective I am no longer buying anything from Amazon because of their refusal to offer good service. I am not driving 2 hours to Whole Foods to return defective items when I used to be able to drive 5 minutes to UPS.
Customers scamming Amazon or Walmart should not be my problem as an honest customer. I should not have to deal with policies that make my life more difficult when the only reason I bought from them was convenience. They have not been cheaper than brick and mortar stores in some years. Scamming is a big problem for online vendors but again, any policy that negatively affects me will also negatively affect my opinion of them. I should not have to suffer the consequences of someone else gaming the system. If/when Walmart does this I will stop using them too.

Walmart is an awful company tbh and I refuse to give them any of my money. Until they can treat their employees better, I’d rather stick to companies like Costco.
kjtstl 7 points · Jan 2025
Agreed. Walmart+ is like old Amazon. I also love that they don’t jack up grocery prices for delivery like instacart does.

What coffee subscription do you use? I'm always looking for a better deal for fresh roasted coffee.
LincolnshireSausage 1 points · Jan 2025
I had an Amazon subscription set up for some specific fresh roaqsted Yirgacheffe beans but no longer do. I've been looking into coffee subscriptions outside of Amazon but have not settled on one yet. I am still looking.

40 hours a week means you can't go to the store? Lol

It is legal. You agreed to it when you signed up. They do let you cancel, but the cancellation doesn’t take effect until your term expires. The excuse is money, they want to keep it.

If you contact customer service you can have your refund prorated.

You can get refund for remainder if you have not used the benefits enough
vcems 1 points · Jan 2025
When you signed up for prime, it stated that very clearly. It just would not renew at the end of the term. Don't make it out thinking that it wasn't that at the beginning.
