Your merge option in the mirror modifier is set to 0m, set it to 0,0001m or 0,001m

Did this work?

Hi, i write spanish.

I think the mirror modifier has to be under the subd.

Kaen_Yokio [OP]

That did not work

The above comment has it backwards: mirror must come first or the subdiv modifier will bend the top and bottom vertices away from the middle line before the mirroring happens. Also make absolutely sure the middle vertices are dead on the mirror line.

Kaen_Yokio [OP]

Is there a way i can readjust the vertices to be dead on the mirror line?

Interference22

This is assuming the mirror is along the X axis and your origin is already on the mirror line.

Select all of the verts you want to be on the mirror line. S to scale, X to constrain to X, 0 to set the scale to 0, causing all the vertices to be lined up perfectly on the X axis. Next, check the properties panel (toggle with N), Item tab, near the top is the median position of your selection. Set the X value to zero. This will snap your selection to 0 on the X axis.

I have done what you have said, and the ends still dont merge in catmull clark mode

I'd suspect that the top and bottom vertices are not quite at the midline, just off by a little bit. A file would let me say what's going on with more certainty.

Kaen_Yokio [OP]

Could you tell me how you might make the top and bottom vertices absolutely on the midline?

In Object mode, select the mesh, Shift+S 2 (Cursor to Selected). Period 6 (the period between comma and slash, not on numpad; Transform Pivot Point to 3D Cursor). Enter edit mode. Select that entire column of vertices on the line you want to mirror across. s x x 0 Enter (Scale on Local X by 0; moves those vertices to exactly x=0 in local space).

Alright thanks

Select all vertices on top and middle edge. Prees shift e. Type 1 then enter. This should work

Could set the vertical crease to 1, but probably better served by changing the order of the mirror and the subd modifier

In your edit mode. Type A to highlight everything and type Shift-N. This should recalculate all the normals. If that doesn't work go into your object mode. Highlight the object and Ctrl-A scroll and click on all transforms.

In (Edit Mode) I would just delete the two mssed up faces and select the vertices surrounding the empty space and hit F to make a new face.

Although it is not a direct solution to the exact problem. It's like the digital version of buying a new car instead of fixing the one you have hahah.

joelfoxxxx

try changing catmull-clark-> simple

Paulc_41

Order of modifiers matter. Blender is going to prioritize modifier s based on the order you have them in. Try moving your subdivision modifier on top of your mirror. That should give you the result you are looking for.

Newt_Defiant

Hey man I don't know if you ever figured out, but I had the same issue and all you have to do is apply the mirror modifier
