I thought a V3 hasn't been released? Aren't we still on V2?

I thought V3 was the same as V2 but switching to PFAS free materials

Really wish they had designated the PFAS free products as V2.x, cause this is gonna cause all sorts of confusion when the third itineration of the Everyday Line comes to market.

I'm sorry but if a bag isn't SemVer compliant I'm afraid I'm just not interested

Mdayofearth

Same. It's been like that for years.

Mdayofearth

It is. V3 is PFAS free version of V2; for model of bags with a V2 and V3.

And PD may also make slight changes between production runs, which are not published.

The_Middleman

Wasn't there a question about iterations a while back and it turned out to be a small materials change or something? I certainly can't spot any differences looking at this. Maybe it ties into that poster the other day who noticed that the key clip was different?

BoatCancer

Yes, that might have been mine. Supposedly the bags that have been out in all the new colorways were quietly released as v3. Irritating in my opinion because it was not an entirely new version

Mdayofearth

Some new colorways were added, but the version number change was to PFAS free materials.

Mdayofearth

V3 is the PFAS version of the V2, a change in materials only.

Rockbmi

The pictures look identical to the V2

Economy_Evening_2989

maybe they are referring to the new (not exactly that new now but) colours and the removal of stretchy key tether on everyday backpack?

Mdayofearth

That's because V2 and V3 look almost exactly the same. The change was to move to PFAS free materials.

I have 30L midnight and had an issue. I am waiting for a replacement (Ocean) which is coming in a week.

I really wanted another midnight, but apparently it is permanently discontinued.

Helhiem

Same issue here but my strap magnet keeps coming out.

Ngl the new colors are godawful compared to the midnight.

Even the black sucks cause it doesn’t have the leather strap

Hi! Thank you for sharing. I just wanted to clarify that we don't have a v3 for our Everyday Backpack at the moment. The SKUs BEDB-20-BK-2 and BEDB-20-BK-3 help us identify which version is PFAS and which one is PFAS-free. Both products have the same features, but they use different treatments.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

BH Photo also lists a V3 now. Be interesting to see what’s different I certainly can’t tell.

Mdayofearth

V3 is the PFAS version of the V2, a change in materials only.

juaydarito

I wonder if the new one is any lighter than the V2…

Mdayofearth

V3 is the PFAS version of the V2, a change in materials only. There is no real weight gain or loss from it, if there is, it'd be a few grams at most.

Besides the confusing versions, why do we need more reviews of a backpack or lineup that’s been on the market for quite a while now? There are so many reviews in writing and videos.

Mdayofearth

Some content creators choose to do a review for something they just bought for personal use, and by publishing a video (or written article), it's now a tax write off.

Some do it to discuss a product they got for free.

Some do it to discuss a product they were paid to discuss.

This author chose to write about a bag they acquired for business use.

I would not be surprised if it was done in cooperation with some marketing in mind, but that's speculation on my part.

I just read the review in the link you posted and I’m thinking… what the hell was this guy smoking when he wrote it? Ahahaha

Dissociativeamnes1ac

Cant believe people still buy this bag after almost a decade..

Not sure on the accuracy, but ChatGPT is saying SKUs have changed to reflect "-3".

"B&H explicitly shows the BEDB-20-BK-3 as the replacement for the older BEDB-20-BK-2"
