What did people think of the DLC, is it worth picking up? The trailer looks great, but it’s hard to get a gauge of what the DLC is actually like to play.
Also if I’d like to play it with my friends, do only I need to own it as host, or does everyone need to own it?

Same as the base game really. A LOT more enemy density I feel like personally. The combat is much more chaotic. And they added melee weapons which gave some new built viability. To me, DEFINITELY worth it
It's a bit short and sometimes the # of enemies is a little excessive but still fun
Seems like once you have the guillotine sword you can rip through them with impunity

For online co-op, do all of the players need to own the DLC, or just the host?
To answer my own question: only the host needs to own the DLC, which is awesome.

Hi there, I just finished it completly yesterday and can recommend it. Its a new area with some cool side-quests and the environments are as usual very atmospheric.
What was not for me so far has been the melee weapons, im just more of a "Replace air with lead/energy particles" kinda guy in this game.
The environment and overall atmosphere is fantastic as it was in the base game. The only negative thing I can say is that it was short in time. The main story can be done really quick (under two hours) and there is like three side quests. The additional achievements took me a bit of farming to reach a certain level.
No regrets from my side, I just wish to have more things to do in this breathtaking world.

Yeah seeing as it's basically 'open world' (with a few loading screens) I'd love randomly generated encounters and missions/jobs after the main story

Well, it is not a huge difference. Still gorgeous but the area is very similar. Still owns the look though.
