No, not really. It's very smooth and predictable power delivery...and the Zero isn't crazy overpowered. Mine is only 70 horsepower...on dry pavement you can go full throttle and it won't really power wheely or wheel spin or anything like that. It's really not touchy or hard to control at all.

Even better than that, the Zero actually has riser modes you can switch, and has a custom mode you can set up with the exact percentage of torque and regen you want. I pretty much ride full power full regen anytime I'm on the pavement, but it is a cool option...if I'm off road/trail riding in gravel or mud I'll sometime put it in eco/half power mode to give me more throttle range of motion since I don't need 70 horsepower on a loose surface.

74orangebeetle

Well for one, I've literally never ridden in the back seat of my car...and for 2, in an emergency you could go out the front.

But the subreddit wouldn't be liable for the lie a user posts.

74orangebeetle

Yes...what other liability are they worried about?

74orangebeetle

How's there liability issues? Liability would be for OP if they were lying about it (in which case it would be Libel) but if they're in the U.S. they have freedom of speech and if they're telling the truth it's not libel.

I mean, they pretty much crush the competition in efficiency...and the other people similar in efficiency (like Lucid) are also using flush handle designs.

74orangebeetle

Hidden compartment? Ok bud. Could just use one of the mechanical handles and exit like this. https://youtube.com/shorts/PvxH13XVyN8?is=Cm_3ZwfUwc-jdvFB

The 75D/dual motor isn't LDU. All rear wheel drive have large drive unit regardless of pack size. For all wheel drive it's just the older performance models (p85d, p90d p100d, etc). But if it's RWD, it came with the LDU By the time they changed and fixed it, they no longer made rwd model S.

Those definitely were the most people among the rich foreign students when I went to college. I never minded though...exotics and supercars are very rare in my area, so kinda cool to see one in person. One had a Rolls Royce Ghost...one lot had a Lamborghini and a Ferrari (I think Gallardo and forget the Ferrari model). Was kind of funny and out of place to see them in a shared apartment parking lot though. No garage or driveway, but 6 figure cars....I'd be paranoid.

74orangebeetle

Smaller, cheaper, more efficient, and the majority of taxi trips are 2 or fewer people. Plus they already have the model Y for when more than 2 seats are needed.

74orangebeetle

Yes it does. All rear wheel drive Model S had the large drive unit.

It's only news if it's a Tesla. Bonus points if self driving or a cybertruck are in loved, then it's clickbait global newsworthy.

74orangebeetle

The Cybertruck isn't over 3.5 tons though.

74orangebeetle

I don't like to reward false or misleading headlines with a click. If I did I'd be reading AI slop all day. I already know the position. Was already me ruined in the comments that the others did better in a JD power survey which wasn't what the title mentioned or implied. Misleading headline.

74orangebeetle

Out of principal I refuse to reward clickbait headlines with a click and a read, as it was created by a low quality source. Headlines should not be misleading and should give an accurate picture of the article.

Really? When I did a road trip last year I used exclusively Tesla chargers and averaged 31 cents/kwh (3400 miles) through 10 states. About 24 hr drive each way, so mix of on and off peak. I was actually sad because I'd wanted to stop at an Ionna, but it was 48 cents/not crazy, but massively higher than my average supercharger rates. Are most Ionna cheaper? They're few and far between where I am.

74orangebeetle

But they're claiming the others took the throne...nothing you copy and pasted supports that claim.

74orangebeetle

Lol, what in the clickbait junk is this? Ionna is cool, but few and far between. Mercedes and Rivian? Seriously? They have a tiny fraction of the number of chargers as Tesla....I have yet to actually see either in person, meanwhile I've driven over 3000 miles on a trip just with the supercharger network. Why is this sub up voting this? You can hate Tesla, but no need to make up lies.

74orangebeetle

Surprisingly, Tesla actually sells well in China and is one of thenfew American companies that can compete in the EV space over there.

74orangebeetle

They have access to it, they're just not allowed to use it. Obviously they'd be allowed to in an emergency.

74orangebeetle

For real. I love EVs, but also care about repairability. It's fun to see how easy or difficult it is to fix some of these. Fisker, Lucid, Rivian, polestar, etc. Really looking forward to the next Rivian Van video.

74orangebeetle

I did 3400 miles in my standard range model 3 and had 0 issues. Never was unable to charge, never had to wait to charge. The cool thing with Tesla is they'll tell you how many stalls are open in advance (and if any are out of order it'll tell you which one, and it's rare for that to happen) and will even account for other people routing to the same charger...so you could plan in advance if a station is busy. I have an adapter too so I can use CCS stations/charge anywhere else, but on my last long trip the Tesla ones were consistently cheaper (though that's not always the case everywhere)

74orangebeetle

Fantastic. Haven't bought gas in years. Gas was cheap when I got my car. Now it's not...but charging my car is cheaper than gas was. Road trips are no problem, and at home I'm still fine with a regular outlet/haven't even bothered upgrading any wiring or anything (though I'd like to go to 240v for the efficiency gains).

No oil changes to worry about either.

74orangebeetle

I do have a CCS adapter/more options and competition is always good. I haven't been to a Wal-Mart charger yet (I've passed by the electrify Americas at Walmarts, but haven't had the chance to see or use an actual Walmart charging station). I do love that they're expanding their network.

But what I do like with a lot of the Tesla chargers is some will have cheap off peak rates. Last time I went out of town to a concert, it might've been like 60 cents peak rate, but I held off until the way back and charged for 21 cents (obviously you can't always do that, but sometimes you can time your charging to take advantage)
