I remember him in one of the blackout skits on Night Gallery. He wore a full facemask, and he kept trying to blow out a candle unsuccessfully. saying his lines...puff...saying his lines...puff again...saying his lines...puff a third time. Very funny.

Yet another rare instance of Klinger being called by his first name!

"Hello, I'm from the House of Dior. Consumer research. They sent me out here to determine why a single man is buying so many of our dresses. I guess I have my answer."

Sometimes an actor or actress just isn't available, so you have two Donald Penobscots.

He keeps himself in a state of utter confusion. It requires tremendous discipline.

Yes, but Col. Flagg was no doubt undercover at first, gathering information. He was a master of disguise.

AlanNotAlda

He was a sensitive soul. Wearing dresses and being feminine freed him from having to act macho. And for those who say he didn't act feminine, I refer you to when he cried at Margaret's wedding, when he was wearing that lovely gown. There's nothing shameful about being feminine sometimes. Wearing dresses didn't mean he had to cry like a woman, it meant he got to.

"That's Pierce."

"That's not the kind of discharge I'm looking for."

"You are not Olivia de Havilland."

AlanNotAlda

"You want a coke?"

"Yeah, I'll have a coke."

"What kinda coke you want?"

"Pepsi."

"So you want a Pepsi coke?"

"Yeah, I'll have a Pepsi coke."

AlanNotAlda

You won't be sorry.

AlanNotAlda

I heard a lot of people fell off the couch laughing.

"Particularly nice weather we've been having."

AlanNotAlda

"You could pick a lock with that thing."

"Colonel Potter has an outfit just like that. But his is all wrinkled."

This is from that tour when he grabbed June's suitcase by mistake. Good thing they're the same size.

Another great soda you can get on Amazon is Cheerwine cherry soda. A North Carolina product. It's everything Cherry Coke wishes it was.

AlanNotAlda

There are not many circumstances in which that could be taken as a compliment.

AlanNotAlda

There's nothing like breaking up with a woman to make a man slip into a sexy cocktail dress and get drunk.

Trapper John on his last episode explaining which tree was the pee tree.

AlanNotAlda

I think that was the sexiest dress he ever wore, and it was also the only time he got whistles.

A Farewell to Arms has the most harrowing ending I've ever read in a novel. Yet the ending had nothing to do with the war.

I'm not clear on your definition of "trans" here. Today it means transsexual, or someone wanting to transition. I know some people call crossdressers "transgendered" but I disagree with that. It's needlessly confusing. "Crossdresser" is a perfectly serviceable word. We know from Mariette Hartley's character that sex change surgery existed at the time of the show, but Klinger had never heard of it, and he was somewhat horrified by it. At Col. Blake's trial someone refers to Klinger as a transvestite. Col. Blake responds: "The thing you have to understand about Klinger is that he's not your typical recruitment poster type."
