They really need to offer lower sodium options for canned goods. There are a few things that make it impossible for Trader Joe’s to be my personal one-stop shop; some of them are issues that seem irreconcilable with how their product pipeline works (ie I need more fresh produce options, and more that aren’t in plastic bulk bags, I use some specialty “ethnic” products that just likely don’t have enough demand for a small store to justify the shelf space) but I am sure I’m not the only one who buys no salt added broth, canned beans and tomatoes, etc. Some people want them because we need to limit our sodium, but plenty of people just prefer no salt added so they can more easily use the item in a variety of recipes.

Definitely not right now, because I have no way of getting there unless I can get a ride from a family member who happens to be going, so it’s a once a month or less event. But back when I lived a few blocks from both a Trader Joe’s and a regular local chain grocery, the answer was still no. There are lots of things I love that I can only get at TJs or prefer to buy there, but there are three categories where they just don’t have what I need: fresh produce (so much of their produce is plastic wrapped, and the selection is limited), household goods, and canned goods and sauces. For the last of these the reason is that TJs doesn’t have much in the way of low sodium or no salt added options. Eg they don’t have “no salt added” canned beans, just the type that has quite a lot of salt.

Autism does have a root cause. Genetics.
“Autism is caused by bad parenting” is what people commonly believed like half a century ago. It’s right up there with “vaccines cause autism.”

A gold pendant necklace that belonged to my great-great grandma. I rarely wear it because I’m too afraid of losing it, but I do wear it for special family occasions because it makes me feel like all the women who came before me and wore this necklace are there too.

Not only is she old enough to be his mother, she’s old enough that depending on her individual biology she might be TOO old to be his mother. Wow.

Seriously! I’ll admit I’ve leveraged AI to help me refine messages where I need to convey a lot of technical info but there are also maybe some sensitive workplace politics matters in play, but using it outright for such a simple email is just outsourcing your brain entirely.

This probably sounds weird but it’s a dish I grew up eating and I love it: barbecue chickpeas with either roasted broccoli or Brussels sprouts, served over either a grain (rice, couscous, quinoa) or a sweet potato. So good!
I love pumpkin soup, and I’m definitely a dessert person, but I just can’t imagine using this product for a soup. I make pumpkin soup with canned pumpkin or fresh all the time and have truly never been tempted to add sugar.
