Frontier246

But they did question if it was actually her...

Frontier246

I love how Vision's first priority is Tommy.

Good thing Vision has a colorful collection of AI With a particular set of skills.

As lovely as it would be for Paul Bettany to keep masterfully portraying Ultron...it was probably easier on him to just let a projection of Spader keep portraying him during the "visualization" portions of the episode.

Best character arc is U learning how to speak more.

Nothing weird, just a grandson getting to know his super problematic and slightly racist grandpa as they both call out harsh truths about each other and the one person who connects them: Vision.

I wonder how much of Jo's nihilism towards humanity is from becoming synthetic, the last imprint of that feeling of betrayal, or from her amnesia? Is it all a self-projection to avoid dealing with how she really feels about becoming a Synthezoid so she doubles down on embracing it and the culmination of her greatest work?

They even managed to make a chat conversation with Paladin work! LMAO!

It always comes back to Madripoor, huh? And Ultron using Tommy to spur Vision on.

Move over Council of Kang's, now it's the Council of Ultron's! Who also promptly kill one of their own and the only one trying to make them reflect on their actions (at least ostensibly). Classic Ultron!

They didn't have the budget for a full sequence of Ultron and Jocasta in their true forms conversing though they made the two visuals of them together in their true forms as impactful as possible.

Ultron, a robot who sees humanity as a disease and wanted to destroy them, but finds himself still obsessed with them and their culture. Jocasta, a Synthezoid who was once human but now rejects humanity, embraces her new synthetic existence, and is planning to "cure" the disease of humanity through Transhumanism.

It's funny how Jocasta is the "Bride of Ultron" but this is legit the first and only time they've ever had romantic chemistry and it not being Jocasta rejecting anything having to do with Ultron. Then again this Jocasta is more human and Ultron is James Spader, so...

The black and white coloring gave the dynamics a kind of Film Noir vibe.

Ultron couldn't help that whole visitation setting could he? Just had to rub it in for good measure.

Ultron, despite everything, craves connection. A feeling of completeness. A meaning to his existence.

Vision and Ultron are father and son, whether they outright acknowledge it or not, and that both makes them deeply connected and deeply adversarial at the same time.

FRIDAY's gone rogue! Tony would be proud.

EDITH was not programmed to process grief. But a de-fragging hug works too.

Even after their last interaction, Lisa couldn't abandon Tommy.

Frontier246

Man, the only thing more dangerous than being Kail's brother is being on the throne.

Frontier246

Ishtar is a Goddess of War and Matchmaking! Not murder!

Frontier246

Yeah, but I feel like the prospect of doing it after he'd confessed his feelings meant it also gave her a chance to tell him.

When she finally got him alone during the bike ride, she didn't waste time confessing to him. So I think she was just looking for the right time/moment to do it.

Frontier246

Honestly now this feels more like a show about a younger guy and an older girl figuring out their relationship before she leaves for college than a show about a guy and his Harem.

Especially when Asuka's gotten seven episodes and we haven't seen any of the other girls in, like, forever.

Glad Asuka's dad turned out to be okay.

Frontier246

It's earnest in everything! Being a parody, the violence, it's protagonists' stupidity, the animation...everything!

Frontier246

Only thing I can think of is all the girls are going to make their move now that he's basically emotionally given up on being with Asuka...even though she's still there.

Frontier246

Of course Asuka would basically have a mutual literary love confession with Saku.

Frontier246

Judging by the voice in the next episode preview, seems like we're getting Yua's arc next.

Frontier246

He also already said he'd take responsibility for her career/life in Tokyo, so...

Frontier246

I definitely think she intends to be his "light" to keep inspiring him and being there for him in a way no other girl can.

I do wonder where we go from here. The other girls press their attacks? Will Asuka still be flirting/teasing with him in the time they have left?

Frontier246

The only thing holding Asuka back is the college/childhood friend butt but even so she's so overpowering that it feels hard for the other girls to ever properly compete.

Frontier246

But...but her hair was longer! She looked like a totally different person!

(Seriously though, poor girl cut her hair to look more attractive for him and then had to realize most of his Harem have longer hair than she does)

Frontier246

What is Nakia planning with Lady Guzell? But no matter how much he's forced to deal with Guzell, Kail's feelings (and lips) will always be for Yuri.

Ursula and Kash bicker because they actually have the hots for each other! So since Ursula has been trying to wingwoman Yuri, the least Yuri can do is return the favor! Ursula didn't think someone in Kash's position would ever want anything to do with her, let alone just to add her to his Harem, but Kash has been where Ursula is and she's the ONLY woman he has his eye on...so ship sailed!

Seriously though, was Aslan really acting or would he have really stomped Ursula to death? I can't tell.

You can tell Ursula is one of Yuri's handmaidens because she pulls a Yuri and puts herself out there to uncover Nakia's evil plots, even using her feminine wiles on a man that's not her betrothed in the process. Of course, Nakia intended for Ursula to figure out said "plot."

Ramses isn't going to help Yuri without getting something in return, but Ursula isn't going to force her mistress to kiss another man so she'll do it for her! Seriously though, how many men other than her future husband is Ursula going to kiss in a day?

It's kind of sad that Juda can genuinely believe his mother would resort to poisoning someone...even the king himself.

Annuwanda II was greatly aided by his brother emotionally, and he wants Yuri to do the same for Kail, even if he knows it's a lot to ask of one woman. But Annuwanda II really seems like a good guy and brother. Which makes it a shame WHEN URHI STABS HIM. AND YURI IS LEFT WITH HIS DEAD BODY!

RIP Annuwanda II. You were only king for three episodes. And now Nakia's killed yet ANOTHER of Kail's brothers!

Of course Nakia's plot to frame Yuri for murder falls apart when Juda was there to testify that Yuri didn't kill him...but what if Juda changed his testimony? Don't tell me Nakia brainwashed her own son!?

Frontier246

He wasn't trying to kill them at that point! Just trying to save himself!

Frontier246

If this were a visual novel the Asuka "Good Ending" would be Saku reuniting with her in college where she makes it clear she's still waiting for him to make a proper proposal.

Frontier246

I love how she plots evilly for like three episodes and is then quickly killed like it never mattered.

Frontier246

Saku and Asuka have:

  • Been each others' mutual first love since they were kids.
  • Mutually inspired each other.
  • Gone on multiple dates.
  • Had their relationship be focused on for SEVEN episodes.
  • Gone through the marriage proposal phase.
  • Basically received parental approval.
  • Spent the night in the same bed in a love hotel together.

The only thing holding them back is they think her going to college in Tokyo is a dealbreaker. But she's loved him since they were kids, why would she stop loving him in Tokyo?

Frontier246

He's already begging for favors from his future father-in-law!

Frontier246

Yeah, I'm really wondering what Cornelius' plan is because I thought they were supposed to get at him right when they left but it seems like they're dragging it out until Margaret's killed Lily or figured out what really happened to her sister?

Frontier246

Rein's got MC-itis. He believes in the power of friendship AND how he's better than his supporting cast.

This is not just a fun and wholesome Banished Fantasy show. Margaret is legit plotting murder, a sudden violent murder occurs in her house and she barely reacts to it, Lily is suspected of being responsible for the death of her entire party, and Rein keeps stripping. Okay, one of those is not like the other but still!

RIP Glenda. I was just happy to hear Megumi Toyoguchi.

Maybe this is like some kind of world where magic/fantasy was injected into our modern world and humans have to adapt? Or it's just there for comedy.

I love how all the goblins have these inhumane, snarling, monster face except that one goblin when he's just running to save himself and gets murked for his trouble lol.

Frontier246

And also straight up proposing to a girl in front of her father.

Really it feels like the only reason the other girls have a chance is that Saku and Asuka don't seem to even want to try long-distance.

Frontier246

Man, Asuka and Saku feel like they've been traveling everywhere for their dates...but this one is very personal to the both of them. Because it's where they met as kids! That's right, Saku and Asuka are not only childhood friends but each others' first love!

Once upon a time Asuka was shy, introverted, and had longer hair (which admittedly looked really good on her), but then she met "Saku-nii" who opened her world up, gave her so much freedom, and helped her really see the world in all its possibilities. It's no wonder she became so attached to him and wanted to show him her cutest sides.

Dang, even back then Asuka's dad was getting in the way of their relationship, forcing Saku to whisk her away. But it was worth it for a festival date! And THAT'S where the whole ramune bottle thing comes from.

Asuka truly loved Saku, she even wanted to be his wife back then, never knowing the feeling was mutual...until now when she's been trying to play-act as his childhood persona for the current Saku. Girl even cut her hair because she thought he'd be into sporty, short-haired, girls!

But Saku being Saku validates Asuka's decisions, and still believes in her, no matter what! That's the kind of relationship they have.

Jeez, I know not every parent has to think their kid is the most special, but did Papa Nishino really have to threaten to cut all ties with Asuka just so she can pursue her desired career? It takes Saku bowing his head and pleading to take responsibility for Asuka to really stand up for herself. Like, if you're going to propose, do it properly when you're adults.

But all Asuka's dad wanted to see was that she had the right resolve, because he doesn't have it in him to make his daughter stop talking to him. And now none of them will ever let him live down that he once wanted to be a rocker. But at least now Saku has a place in the Nishino home!

And yet, while this is a win for Asuka, it's tragic for her relationship with Saku because it means their life paths will diverge from here...and it breaks her heart. Because they are each others' moons, which is probably as close as these two can get to a proper love confession. She doesn't want to lose Saku, but she can't give up her dream.

But she still intends to be a light that Saku can always feel drawn by, inspired by, and supported by. And will they really be able to do nothing together in all the months Asuka still has left?

Frontier246

The ED seems to give away that Margaret will be an ally soon, but I do not know if I am going to be able to really like her. We will see though.

Also assassin girl. Not even being a lethal assassin who has murdered someone on-screen makes you irredeemable!
