Dang that is some shenanigans, good to know though I guess

GimpyGeek

We really need this but man it's gonna be such an uphill battle, not just for the general laws in the states but globally speaking there's gonna be holes country by country, we really need some major UN resolutions and shit this technology is too disruptive and hit way too quickly

GimpyGeek

They may still produce them on request but not sure now, it was a while ago but in the last I dunno 10-20 years I would imagine.

I remember seeing Steve Wozniak on I think it was Conan's show, one of the late night ones for sure, talking about the smart ass thing he does. He would order uncut fresh new $2 bills, then he'd get them perforated, and binded into a little book with like 4 bills per page on it that you could tear off like a notebook paper pad.

Then he'd go to places like drive throughs and when he got to the window would pull his money pad up and start ripping the bills off of it like a total weirdo and hand them the totally-legitimate money and wait for their weird reactions, priceless.

GimpyGeek

Yeah I got stuck on that one too was like dafuq

GimpyGeek

Yeah something seems screwy there, it definitely should be there. Could be a theme issue or if they edited their css in the past it got buggered with the nova update perhaps.

Oh yeah I suppose it could be something funny in about:config too that's not normal perhaps.

I also think a big PSA for a lot of newer players that don't know, is it doesn't take as many scans as one might think to hit max standing for the day on those. There's two big kickers here effecting the reputation payout, latter of these being the bigger, the first one is enemy level, but the second is their attention level.

Go solo, especially with a stealth frame, unalerted enemies pay out like 4x or something the regular scan reputation. There is a weird glitchy exception to this unfortunately however, and that's that one of their old optimizations does mess with this sometimes. It used to be when enemies weren't near a player it'd destroy them and make new ones, but to optimize over time they just relocated them at new spawns, if one is relocated that 'should' be a new guy, that has been scanned already before, you can't scan them again. But still it's not that difficult, also can easily stealth scan at high distance on an archwing in an open world zone.

Also, I would tell newer players to keep an eye out at event shops as well, they've got the extra simulacrum room styles available on these. I'm not sure if getting one from an event directly opens it or if you need to get the generic one from Simaris first though, but the terminal to open the simulacrum is the alcove to the left of the front of his room if any much newer player with an event one without Simaris' one wants to find out.

Yeah this is unfortunately a huge problem especially with our lackadaisical votes that come out to banish big evil like trump one time then think things are supposed to go happily ever after. That'd be great but things don't work that fast and we need time to fix things especially this time. Trump broke a lot of shit the first time but the amount of stuff he's broken this time is off the charts.

Yeah not sure what happened with yours. I use steam input and the screenshot manager which keep track of it's stuff by a steam app id number, which in non-steam game cases it generates a new one when you add a new non-steam game or delete the old one and remake it, it gets a new number (come to think of it, they really should make the number generate based on the name so it brings things back organizationally easier in the future)

Each time this happened for me, I think the first time it happened and I panicked, as I don't want my stuff messed up, at least I can repair the screenshots but getting the controller profiles back is a pain in the ass... Restarting steam once didn't show it again but twice had. After that it was only one restart to fix it, but they came back again using the same app ID numbers. Glad the new beta build fixed that hoopla.

In any case I wonder what caused that to begin with, very weird.

GimpyGeek

Yeah if it's not in the public directory it really doesn't matter

GimpyGeek

Yeah, in Ohio you can just flip things at the polls to change whose primary you're voting in, I do this sometimes just to pick a slightly less nutter person on the other side. Just for the hope of avoiding someone more damaging if the gop wins.

GimpyGeek

Hmm strange, I think the first time it happened it took a couple restarts though. Could try the beta build in any case

GimpyGeek

I'm also curious how that would fly for the voice chat too, the console people have prox chat and stuff, which we don't have on pc if anyone cares enough we'd just use discord or something but ya know

GimpyGeek

Just restart Steam, they should come back. It's a known issue that's already been fixed in the beta build

GimpyGeek

I'd also point out that you can individually dismiss the sponsored icons by hand in the context menu for each one

GimpyGeek

Yeah totally goes both ways I'm so tired of the influence from them both directions.

GimpyGeek

PC version also has the controller UI too btw. It really flips the entire UI on it's head when you use controller instead.

There is of course, no voice chat on pc though and the chat window is the PC one by default, but can be changed to the console one.

GimpyGeek

Hard to blame ya there, would be nice if they got the whole crossplay/save thing going but I'm sure that's pushed back even further with recent developments

GimpyGeek

hey I've got this great idea, it's called how about you worry about your own election in your own country and we should also do the same. Tired of this foreign interference crap all the way across the board lately.

GimpyGeek

Set pieces you've unlocked can be duplicated with transmute crystals. The cost however is dependent on how many parts of the set you have, the more you have the less it costs, capping out at 25 on the lowest end

GimpyGeek

Yeah was starting to use it and thought it'd be handy at first, then I hit the size wall and was like welp guess not so much lol

GimpyGeek

Well not terrible, depending, it's definitely meant to be usable, but if it's happening on your local network to a machine on your local network it'd definitely an unexpected degradation of possible performance ya know

GimpyGeek

Yeah I'm curious how they will potentially handle the whole guild store thing. There's a limited number of stores in the game as it is and introducing two platforms worth of extra guilds to things is going to be weird to say the least. On top of which non-subscribing players can't even access shops in some of the zones (unless they paid for the area of course.)

GimpyGeek

Yeah you'd have to setup the steam bind as a chord then it'll ask what other button to press at the same time to fire that bind off

GimpyGeek

Google's been doing that to me since the Nova patch or so, not sure what the deal is but it's heavily irritating

GimpyGeek

Agreed this is wildly stupid, now people might have to go to sites full of viruses and shit to get a copy, fantastic. Personally my hardware uses the old one I think my mouse can use either but kb sure cannot.

I wonder if that means the even older build is going away too. I got a joystick that was the current model at the time around circa 2015 and was shocked to have it not work in LGS. Later looked closer and found out it was an old model still being actively produced but was using the even older major LGS version (major as in, full rewrite like Ghub was) from the software previous to the final version of LGS, crazy. At least other software can handle that better than the classic LGS can anyway.
