Alternative parties serve as a means to put pressure on the main parties to change. It doesn't matter how many parties we have, especially when members can bounce from one to another when they sense a change in their fortunes. If they're made up of the same people then they're the same thing.
Reform are collapsing because they're a shitter more corrupt version of the Tory party. The Greens are collapsing because each individual member views themselves as an island of purity in a sea of ignorance.

I only buy the absolute biggest towels I can find. I've never found a purpose for a small towel. They only exist to make you briefly think you've found a good one before you open it up and achieve disappointment.

Yeah but the average person could apply for a job delivering post, or take work at a dog walking company, or fit a few runs in a week in between their current job.
You could easily rack up 10,000 steps a day if you had a good reason to. 15k on most days would be pretty achievable.

Between that and the Diddy hallway chase in Get Him to the Greek I'm starting to wonder if those films were just written by a time traveller with a skewed set of priorities.

I specifically remember a passage is his book about running what he called the 'knobstacle course,' where he would pester a woman into doing something small, a hug or whatever, and then use that as a springboard to take things further and further. If she said no he'd go back a step and try again until he wore her down.
I'm paraphrasing as I read it once years ago, but it was literally in a book he wrote himself.

To be fair the difference in usage over the winter period is massive so if they're covering just a short period to flatten the price spike out then I'll take it. They still need to make money, this just makes it hurt a little less.

Beans a little too close to the egg. I may want to mix them, but I want that to be my decision. Use a sausage as a breakwater.

I've posted this exact topic in here before. I think a dishwasher only becomes worth it when there are 3-4+ in the household. Two people create so little mess that there's far less hassle in just washing most of your cooking stuff up as you go, then taking care of the last few plates and cutlery etc after dinner.
Washing up by hand is also a relaxing exercise where you can switch your brain off for a few minutes, and it gets the whole job done right away. Or you can intersperse it with ither jobs. Wash up, leave stuff to dry while you clean another room, come back and do the next round. It's probably my favourite routine domestic task.
Dishwashers are annoying. They take some items out of circulation for a bit. If I made gravy for dinner and then threw the pan in the dishwasher I now need a new pan to heat up the custard for my dessert. You end up having to own more stuff because sometimes the things you need are in the wash.
Also it postpones part of the clearing job to later. When I'm in cleaning mode I'll put the dishwasher on, but by the time it's done I'm relaxed and not thinking about sorting the house out. I don't want to do it by then. If I wash by hand I can just dry and put away and it's done.
It takes up the space of a whole cupboard. There's already a washing machine and a drier. Now a third cupboard is given over to an appliance I don't even want? Boooo. Give me kitchen space!
They break. It's also another thing to go wrong.
They don't always do the job right. I sometimes still have to do the stuff by hand anyway, which is more annoying than if I just did it that way first time as I thought I was at least saving a job.
With four or more people a single meal fills the entire dishwasher. You have to use more stuff to cook and to eat, so it makes a bit more sense. I still prefer not having one though.
I don't think 'convenience' is automatically good for you. We've spent the last six thousand years or so as a species removing obstacles from our way, but every time we do that we remove elements if work and routine from our daily lives that we think are annoying, but are actually good for us. Focusing on a single monotonous task for half an hour means there's no 'input' to process, no stimuli, no technology to interact with. You can just 'be.' We simultaneously need that, and perpetually seek to avoid it because the boredom is uncomfortable. But boredom is where ideas happen. It's where we deal with the things we're avoiding. It gives the brain space to breathe. Unfortunately it is now possible to have almost every boring task done for you, so you have to create your own obstacles!
By all means have a dishwasher if you want. But, having had one before, I'm far happier without.

Surely that's always implied when someone says that? Obviously I assume some people find him funny.

I like Daisy in this purely because she has to work so hard not to laugh. It's the same reason I don't mind Nish Kumar on a panel show. He's not funny, but he finds other people really funny and expresses it well. It just makes him likeable!

What's wrong with cream? I almost never have it in the house because health, but around Christmas there's usually a tub of double cream in the fridge and fuck me if that week isn't the best coffee I have all year! Only needs a tiny dribble compared to the amount of milk you'd need to get the same colour, but the difference is massive. I'm a blue milk drinker too, so it's already pretty creamy.
Your great great great grandmother once farted for the very first time. Technically, elements of that fart are still drifting around in the atmosphere on this planet somewhere.
You'd have better odds of catching a molecule of it with a pair of chopsticks than an alien stumbling across Voyager.
