Ugh, sure if you want to be pedantic, it’s not a “full on” sweep, no. But it still wins 10 Oscars, more than double the second runner up and now the 2nd most Oscar-winning film in history. If I hear a single movie being called out 10 times for the win in a ceremony, it’s pretty dang close to a sweep.

Because it still wins 10 Oscars in this scenario.

I really hope this year is more interesting than a full-on Odyssey sweep.

I’ve tried at least 3 or 4 times to get into it and still haven’t made it past Act 1. I think I just fundamentally don’t like the combat system, and in general I’m not well-versed in DnD so I don’t really understand the differences between things like short rest vs. long rest, item/resource management, etc.

I still don’t understand the praise for Free Guy, it’s one of the most irritating films I’ve ever seen.

Hell, just ask him to describe the best Elden Ring build.

Denis we’re gonna get you that Best Director nomination come hell or high water.

Chani is so boring in the book by this point, I’m genuinely excited and intrigued by her role in this without knowing what to expect.

What initially got me interested was it being a unique bit of counterprogramming to the other online shooters I was growing tired and bored of, but what got me hooked and keeps me coming back is the wonderful art direction, character designs, world building, and the skater punk aesthetic and tone that was very much my thing when I was a kid. There’s something very playfully anarchic about it that is just my kind of vibe.

Seriously, I don’t know if any other movie has successfully pulled the rug from under me in such an unexpected but satisfying way.
