If that’s the glacier I think it is on Mt. Baker, you need climbing gear to get on to the glacier. When you get closer, it’s really really tall to get on to the top of the ice, like 120ft (back around 2014). My dad and I hiked the trail out to that viewpoint and then to the side of the glacier. We had lunch and watched a search and rescue team practicing.

Boundaries are first to keep you inside your own boundaries, and second to keep invaders out of your area.
That’s foundational to answering your question. The short answer is: be consistent and hold the line.
Don’t cross your own boundaries by unnecessarily engaging with unhealthy individuals. Biologists generally wear appropriate levels of hazmat PPE when dealing with various pathogens, do the same for yourself relationally.
After taking care of yourself, then the only way to really engage with a true narcissist is to gray rock and use public boundaries. Be consistent and firm. Give up nothing. You’re wearing relational PPE, remember?
Sometimes we have to interact with people engaged in toxic behaviors, but that doesn’t mean we have to accept it or break our own boundaries. Even if we break our own boundaries that isn’t an excuse to continue - we just correct course.
