Sure the crew might have mutinied in that case, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone unqualified was running the show. If I recall they were also in an emergency situation and looks like they weren’t even staffed correctly.

But I do take your point that literally the chief medical officer was probably a better replacement than the cadet… but then again all the senior staff on that ship was cadets.

It’s more believable than you might think. CEOs and executives frequently cherry pick people to high positions without qualifications just because they had connections—or in this case— pike was pretty well versed in his father’s history and trusted that his son was similar. The chain of events and lack of comms with the home world made sense that he got elevated so quickly. And then if you save the world you’re generally rewarded in some way, and honestly a captain rank is a pretty small gesture relatively speaking.

Yeah I was thinking about this. Every important event happens during day shift. How many times have we ever seen night shift have to go wake the captain or singing to that effect. Like never. In reality of space no one’s on the same schedule it has the same sleep needs do is rather crazy that all federation species tend to interact during the day or why quarks bar closes at all.

Human empathy, even for people who have committed heinous acts, is a hallmark trait of humanity.

You’re totally normal and healthy and a good member of society when you can both feel empathy for someone while also condemning them for their behaviors.

I don’t know Joe personally and there’s a lot of evidence that points to him interacting with underage girls And even if she lied about her age chilling with 18 year olds as a 40 something is just not right. I’d say the number of robots needed is on the order of billions. They also won’t last forever so after 10 years they’re scrapped.

Dude what kind of take is this. Police arrest anyone breaking the law it doesn’t matter about class. Wealthy people are frequently sent to jail and convicted. I’m abyss/chains. I’m at +10 skills with my current gear, but still missing a torch and dclone charm, so room for more growth. I have another skiller too but it’s not on ladder. I have 1600 life and ~10 percent res on everything in hell. I sacrificed a lot of res to get +skills, like my amulet for example is just a blue +2 to chaos.

But then shako, vipermagi, spirit, +2 codex, and a chaos skiller.

I’d say that as many people who have automatic transmissions today will use full self driving for almost everything once it’s reliable. Eventually it’ll just be mandated. Why risk the life of yourselves and others when a computer can do it for you…
