Chicago sold out

I get that they're likely testing the waters, they filled the blind pig and now all these venues are 3x the size and 6 venues across the country.

When they toured the first two times which I went to shows in each tour, they were all blind pig sized venues. The show I went to in Utah was sold out, and the one in Colorado was about half full.

So I get that there's some hesitancy to go super big when these venues likely already are bigger than most venues they've played in the past.

But yeah, they should be getting bigger venues and at least more shows. But tbf they all work and this entire tour takes place over the course of a week and a weekend. It would probably be hard to commit to more tours unless Zubin at least takes a sabbatical.

I too like this film even though others disliked it.

I think ultimately they didn’t like Kirk’s death. But it’s whatever, all these people should have died ten times over during the series. It’s good to seal the ending and move on, I think Kirk’s death was in character, he died in the line of duty.

Now stupid deaths like Picard dying and becoming a synth, that was stupid. If you think too long about it it’s stupid because in season 3 it’s not really Picard, it’s a just a copy. Idk why anyone would wanna hang out with him cuz it’s not their captain anymore, it’s a robot version of him. That I didn’t like.

What kind of chaos though? It probably would have just gone on an elliptical orbit around the sun and continued to have more or less the same climate initially, but months years later yes the climate would have dramatically changed.

While I agree, I was checking out stellantis and they have lower market cap than us and millions of production and literally billions in assets, so I’ve seen that maybe we’re pricing this way too hard as a tech stock and not looking at the automotive component. Even if we were phenomenal automotive, there’s no strong reason for the stock to move from where we are.

We have to deliver in software and subscriptions to see the stock move.

What do you mean Rivian doesn’t get paid, of course they get paid per vehicle using their technology. They get a cut of subscription services (connect plus) that VW sells. They will get royalties per unit sold, the specifics of which I don’t know but these two companies success is very much entwined.

I’ve seen them live twice before—not at the blind pig.

They had a high energy show and typical lighting, not much flashing going on, some spinning lights you’d see in a normal concert. Occasionally the lights got dim or I even think in one instance completely off to start a song.

But no, no crazy effects.

I don’t have epilepsy and don’t know how sensitive you are so just keep that in mind.

Could be better. I just watched master And commander And there’s literally three adult Officers and if they’re gone it would have fallen into the kids on board who were Junior officers.

Sure the crew might have mutinied in that case, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone unqualified was running the show. If I recall they were also in an emergency situation and looks like they weren’t even staffed correctly.

But I do take your point that literally the chief medical officer was probably a better replacement than the cadet… but then again all the senior staff on that ship was cadets.

It’s more believable than you might think. CEOs and executives frequently cherry pick people to high positions without qualifications just because they had connections—or in this case— pike was pretty well versed in his father’s history and trusted that his son was similar. The chain of events and lack of comms with the home world made sense that he got elevated so quickly. And then if you save the world you’re generally rewarded in some way, and honestly a captain rank is a pretty small gesture relatively speaking.

This don’t make sense to me either. Did they magically have a 4th crew too run all the operations on the new shift or did they condense to two A/B shifts that cycled every 6 hours? Seems like a nightmare to impromptu reconfigure that schedule… which I guess was why Riker hated him.

Yeah I was thinking about this. Every important event happens during day shift. How many times have we ever seen night shift have to go wake the captain or singing to that effect. Like never. In reality of space no one’s on the same schedule it has the same sleep needs do is rather crazy that all federation species tend to interact during the day or why quarks bar closes at all.

Human empathy, even for people who have committed heinous acts, is a hallmark trait of humanity.

You’re totally normal and healthy and a good member of society when you can both feel empathy for someone while also condemning them for their behaviors.

I don’t know Joe personally and there’s a lot of evidence that points to him interacting with underage girls And even if she lied about her age chilling with 18 year olds as a 40 something is just not right. I trust the band when they said he needs help, I trust that if there was a way to bring Joe back they’d do it.

So yeah totally normal to feel bad for someone who’s watching from the sidelines a group of his friends play what are large pieces of his music and just have to deal with it.

I’d say the number of robots needed is on the order of billions. They also won’t last forever so after 10 years they’re scrapped.

While the volume is less concerning, what does matter more is what they’re capable of doing.

But yes you’re out of your mind if you don’t think there’s millions of people out there that would happily purchase a maid robot, or agriculture needs, or cleaning office buildings.

Robots will certainly outnumber humans at some point, this is just the beginning. Think about phones, how many people have a phone today vs how many people thought we’d all need a phone 20 years ago.
