What's he gonna do spend half a billion dollars to fight their elections?

RedParaglider

Im sure the houthis leaders are bad guys.  Also sure the Saudis leaders are too.

RedParaglider

Yea, its definitely letting people know that republicans are going to leave them to die,  and it's not their fault because they told people to fend for themselves.

With that being said, it is important to have can goods beans, rice flour, water and some source of energy to cook like propane and a camping stove.  All of that stuff is useful to have around anyways.

RedParaglider

You know why.

RedParaglider

You see the difference between fucking magapedos and rational people is that fucking magapedos want to protect their nasty ilk while rational people want to see equal justice, and aren't advocating protection over any sexual assaults.

Keep circling your nasty ass wagon.  Your circle keeps getting smaller.

RedParaglider

Since when, ice literally beats the shit out of american citizens.

RedParaglider

They're working very closely with the u s to try and silence any news on attacks right now.  I guess I think that this one was too hard to keep silent.

RedParaglider

How bad do republicans have to shit the bed to start sending their political might to lubbock texas.  They are literally fighting for their lives in the most red parts of the entire country.

RedParaglider

Well, I have a pretty good solar setup, about 2000w total, a generator, propane tanks, and a half cord of pecan firewood so that's not a bad example for me.

I kind of assume that he would have some sort of energy source to heat food in an emergency.

The biggest problem would be if water were cut.  I keep a 30 gallon tank in my camper fresh, but 30 gallons goes faster than people think it would.

RedParaglider

The monument at corpus christi would differ with your opinion. Texas gets hit by brutal hurricanes, and I mean, absolutely brutal. It's just a matter of when, not, if.

And it's not just hurricanes, it could also be an F5  tornado hitting the dallas metroplex, which is literally on the top ten disasters that is most likely to hit the united states.

The thing is, it doesn't take a tremendous amount of money to have a solid amount of calories in your house.  A bulk bag of beans and a bulk bag of rice would get you most of the way there.

Magapedos in hub town.

RedParaglider

Right? Because the concentration of compute that makes accidentally throwing away hundreds of millions of dollars worth of API tokens on random ass escape the sandbox experiments possible, can only be solved by concentrating compute even more.

30 an hour with health insurance, air conditioning, and pto.

Not falling off that dudes chipped up painted roof.

I'll tune up his daughters bathtub, and varnish her grass.

RedParaglider

You should eat cake.

Bro had to find some conservative enclave to not get rotten eggs tossed at him lol.

The dot com bubble had more sustainable infrastructure that lasted decades.

Pull up any map.of education levels, overlay it.  Ahhhhh ok.

I've been off and on again a developer for decades.  It's always been slop.  But i would say one issue that ai has is just the lack of real testing processes.

Writing tests with ai is ok, but real people doing real shit, with a real product is way different.

RedParaglider

Yea I have terra ultra a road map task that needed a lot of testing and it had to be goaded constantly, and then just quit before doing the full run that was the goal for no good reason apparently than it was a lot of work even though my goal stated it would be an all night testing task.

It is very possible that microsoft can let go of twenty five percent of their workforce and not suffer too much with or without AI.  During covid, a lot of these companies overhired, and stacked, a lot of bureaucracy inside of their organizations.  Microsoft has cut up to 14% of the organization in the past, so it's not unprecedented.

I am interested to see if h1b workers are also affected.  They are getting on a shit list, pretty fast over h1b abuse lately.

I always forget when I wander into some weird cult sub, where people don't quite understand that context poisoning, inability to consistently understand dimensions and fitting sizes, and a myriad of other problems mean that humans will be in the loop for a long time.

And it's even funnier when it's someone like you who genuinely understands that these are amazing systems, but, you also understand the limitations. I'm not sure why people are so eager to be completely cooked.

And as good as they are at copyrighting, i still can't even replace a marketing copywriter, where I work because the error rate is still so insanely high even from frontier models on technical output. And I guess people think that's silly, because it's just copyrighting, but if you sell the wrong thing to someone in my business, people burn alive, it's not up for debate on accuracy lol.

RedParaglider

How big of a laptop are we talking about here big boy?  My p16 with 128gb ddr5 and i9 13980 with a proper docked work battlestation  keeps up pretty well.

Honestly if an AI does take my job everyone is fucked. I'm not saying it can't happen, but I manage an insane complex set of systems with waterfall compliance shit logic everywhere balancing operational, sales, and legal needs, and currently I can't even get gpt sol ultra to write marketing copy for our stuff without a 9 percent technical failure rate utilizing large amounts of context, and dialectical reviews.  It still fucks up hose diameter male female end size and mating logic surprisingly often even when given the exact logic that is correct to write to google merchant standards.

I use claude 5.5 ultra code a lot, and it's really amazing, but you've still got to get in there and burn your brain up if you don't want nonstop garbage from bad nondeterministic assumptions, lack of key context, or just inability to properly write dimensions and angles.  These are absolutely amazing systems, but they are best used in an assistive and cowork method.

I say that as someone who has actually built their own quants, abliterated models, amd done post  training, so not a hater of the tech at all.  I have an AI assisted PIM software we wrote that speeds work up data entry speeds by multiples , the tech is wonderful, but the people that will be replaced will be more because of increased efficiency reducing redundancy of roles for now.

I'm not gonna lie. I thought that the price squeeze was going to happen toward the beginning of this year, not sometime in the future.  There is simply no way the piper doesn't get paid at some point.  Even if that piper is, whoever buys the crumbling smoking husk of companies that go out of business.

RedParaglider

Yep I was one of those calling out the marketing bullshit in that thread.

Sandbox company finds novel attack that their sandbox catches.  Uses for advertising.
